My game's servers permanently lag after opening the console as a developer

my game:

After opening the developer console, my game begins to lag permanently, as shown below:

Of note, is that the type of lag seems to be network lag, although server CPU slowdowns can also cause that to my knowledge.

System info: RTX 3070 Ti, 16GB RAM, 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H

I know this bug seems like it might be a problem with my code, but I have done my best to test everything and I can only come to the conclusion that this is an engine fault. (after all, why would my code break by simply opening the console? I dont think thats even detectable.)

-this ONLY happens to servers where I open the console.
-this only happens if the developer opens the console (developer mode)
-I DO expect the console to lag the server momentarily, as it needs to send a ton of debug data over, which has usually accumulated for a day. This has been the case in the past, but now, its permanent, until server shutdown.
-My servers do output bugs in the console frequently, however it is nowhere near high enough to cause this level of lag, as this has never been an issue in the past. Also, the problem persists after closing the console.
-I have managed to gather a server sided microprofile (included for staff) which does show two server scripts running slow, however these scripts run perfectly fine on every other server. It is only after opening the console do they run slow, leading me to think they’re only running slow due to the server’s CPU being lagged.
-I have also tried resetting the scripts (disabling, reenabling) in order to see if its some memory leak or whatever, but to no avail.
-I currently cant provide a microprofile of the server running fine, as in order to get a server profile you need to open the console.
-I dont think this is related to server age (relating to memory leaks), as I have opened a new private server with a bunch of people and immediately ruined it by opening the console. I did assume that perhaps the server built up a huge pile of errors that had to be sent over but that didnt matter either.

-what does scale, is seemingly playercount. Ive noticed that the lag effect is not very strong or unnoticeable in very small servers (1-4 players).
-This is 100% consistent for me. As long as the server has at least 8 players, the effect is noticeable. Server age doesnt seem to matter.
-I do not know how far back this has been the case, but it started happening at least after today.

-based on the fact that the lag seems to come from clogged networks/server CPU and scales with playercounts, my hunch is that it is some sort of data collection service going haywire.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

just in case the lag seems to be getting better in the clip, here is a continuation of that clip, showing that it is indeed, permanent I dont open my console again for the entire duration of the clip.

bump, this exact same thing is happening in my friend’s game too

happening to me as well, was troubleshooting this for a while lol

Happening to us as well, pretty annoying issue

Bump, started noticing this in experiences I develop for.

We are also experiencing high amounts of networking data hits that continue to spiral average data ping on servers out of control, which we believe is related to this report in Welcome to Bloxburg and some of our test environments.

Unfortunately, the screenshot we have of this has unreleased content in the background - but from server timestamps 11:39:25 @ 326ms to 11:39:47 at 3923ms as a reference, and it continued into well beyond 50000ms before the server crashed

i’m having the exact same bug, it legit only happens WHEN you press F9 to open the console, the ping steadily increases from say 60 ms to 50,000+ms.

i have this exact same issue, none of my code is the issue because i haven’t updated it for almost a month now, and then it started happening when i press f9, the avg data ping as seen at the top of the developer console beside the client memory usage, goes from say 50-60ms and steadily spikes/increases all the way to 50,000ms+.

Hey all, the issue should be resolved now! If you have any further problems or questions, please direct them to Severely Degraded Server Performance when Developer Console is opened. - #3 by Furrrtren which is a duplicate of this issue.
