My games throughout the years

Hoi there!
I’ve been making maps for my own games for nearly the past 6 years now, and even though I’ve started to use Roblox less and less, I figured I might as well show everyone here these games I’ve made that have either never seen the light of day, or have very little visits. Ever since I’ve published this game, and only received very positive comments on it, I figured I might as well show everything else I’ve made. I wouldn’t really say these are the greatest, or think that they should have like a million visits or anything. Maybe when I was young when I made these games, probably, but I like to just see them as to check out how far I’ve come, even if they have very little to them or aren’t anywhere near my recent show case game.

If you’re interested in seeing what I’ve created, you can click here to look at all of my games I’ve made.

  • By the way, I’m not really looking for any jobs or commissions. That would be nice, but my life is really hectic, and it feels like I barely have any time for anything. Besides, I’ve started to lose interest for making actual games for Roblox, and just enjoy building maps mainly. This is just to make these old games more known I suppose, since it wouldn’t feel right to just leave them on the website collecting dust forever.

Affairs of Honor
I had made games prior to this one I’m about to talking about, but this was the first time I had used Studio seriously, or actually built something. It was an old fighting game called Affairs of Honor, and it looked something like this..

I remember this was a pretty ambitious game, especially for a first game. Looking back at it now, I wonder where I would’ve gone if I were to continue with it and be a full time Roblox dev. I don’t really have that interest anymore, but I think this was a good start.

Castle of Winds

This technically belongs with Affairs of Honor, as this map is originally what it started off as. It would’ve also been the first map I’ve created. The whole game had this hellish theme to it, but I guess I had a change in heart along the way. For this though, I’ve decided to make it it’s own separate game.

Pretty impressive looking back at it considering this was one of my first serious introductions to Roblox Studio. I remember being really frustrated with building since all of the parts would be misaligned, only to figure out that I had collisions turned on. I really do like this map, even if it’s rough around the edges.

2021

This was when I started to use Roblox Studio a lot more and take things seriously. I think I made roughly 5 games in that year, though I’ll only show off the ones that are interesting since I don’t want this post to be too long.

Le Café de Iron

This game was one of the first few showcase games I’ve made, as well as the first few remakes I’ve made of old Roblox games. It’s based off of Iron Cafe. I’ve remade a lot of Roblox games, and the intention was to not make it “better” but to just use modern methods of building and see how they’d translate into these games. Not sure why I made the title French, but I guess it makes it more original.

Village of the Sky

I guess this was my first original showcase game, though I went pretty ham on the stud use. This was retroslop before retroslop. In all seriousness, I really like the classic look in this map, and think it suits it well for some reason. Reminds me of Stairway to Heaven, even though that wasn’t the inspiration behind this. It does use a lot of free models though (even the buildings. Man, I was that lazy), but I think I’m proud with the overall look and layout way more.

2022

Remember Affairs of Honor? This was when I had started to rework that game and make it into an action fighter type game. Games like Combat Warriors and Mortem Metallum were inspirations for it. Before that, Affairs of Honor was that previous castle map, and the only weapon you were equipped with was a sword. I wanted to make my own fighting game, and it was around this time that I wanted to expand that game into something bigger. Of course, I know very little code, and lost interest immediately. I think I had more fun making the maps more than anything else, but regardless I have no interest into coming back to it. I’ve decided to make the maps their own individual games, including the castle map.

Garden of Leaves

This was one of those maps. I really like how it turned out. I find it funny that the whole game had a fiery and hellish theme to it, yet a lot of the maps were based off of nature.

2023-2026

I didn’t make much, if any maps at all during this time. I sort of lost interest in Roblox entirely at this point, though pretty recently I did decide to come back after looking at a lot of showcase games and thought, “Oh neat, I can do that too.” I’ve only worked on just 1 game now, and that’s…

Happier Home of Robloxia

I’ve already made a forum post on this, but I saw a few showcase games featuring the stud building style, and ended up really liking it and figured I should remake some old Roblox maps in a more detailed way, and add my own flair to it. This might be the only game that I’ve gotten a lot of feedback and responses on, so I won’t go too in depth into it, but if you want to see it for yourself, here’s the link to the game.

Some stud building practice

Before working on that Happier Home showcase, I was working on this one, where it was just a house next to a river, with a diagonal bridge. It was going really well, until my focus shifted to that Happier Home game and never really worked on this that much. It isn’t public, though that may change pretty soon, and this was kind of my first attempt at stud building.

That brings us to now where I am somewhat working on a new showcase that also uses stud building, though it’s going to be a more original map, and won’t really have that “classic Roblox feel” that Happier Home has. This is what I have so far.

This game also isn’t public, though I’m still working on it of course.

Closing thoughts
I’ve always been so hesitant to show all of my work out of the fear that it either wasn’t good enough, it was incomplete and didn’t want people to see an unfinished product, or didn’t want any spotlight attention from it. I’m not a game dev or anything. I have no experience in coding or managing a game. This is just a little hobby for me. I’m just someone who likes legos and thought of building in the style of them for Roblox games. All of my games have just been private for so long, and I thought it would be nice to put them all out for the world to see, and look at how far I’ve come. I remember working on a few of these games during really rough times in my life, and as I go into adult hood, these have helped with a lot of stressful things.

I’m not expecting to gain a million visits in one game, but I just want to make them visible or seen, as I think they have a lot of potential. I am still working the more recent ones, but the others are there to stay like that as I think they’re perfect as is.

These aren’t all of my games, but if you want to see all of them, they’re under my account that I put at the beginning of this post.

That is all I have. I hope you enjoyed my long yap session. Feel free to ask questions!

Happier Home of Robloxia looks great! It’s so detailed, I love it! I’d play a game that had that kind of map. Hopefully you can turn it into a full game someday!

You are amazing. I wish I could build like that. I had a similar experience to you but the only difference is I code instead, so I have a lot of abandoned game ideas that are like obby games, and building games, and stuff like that. Your maps genuinely look so pretty though, I’d play a game with that kind of map even if it wasn’t Roblox!

I do have a question, how long did it take you to build these maps?

Man, your builds are frankly, quite amazing. I can see that you’ve really put effort and love into building the Happier Home showcase and some of your other maps. I’m glad you got the courage to share your stuff out there, i think it’s more than worthy of applause.

I can relate to that alot, i really do love game development and it is an art that i hope i can get a career in one day. I suppose that until then, we just need to keep on working and hoping that whatever we put out there gets noticed.
(on a brighter note, i also could relate alot to the part on growing up with LEGO, haha)

Cheers man! I’ll definetely start following your work from now on. :hidere:

I didn’t mean to click on this post, but I gotta say; I love those maps! My personal favorite is the “Castle of Winds”. I believe it’s quite fascinating and it really takes me back to a more classical Roblox. Actually, it reminded me of an old Roblox Studio loading thumbnail which had the exact same impression of peace and quiet. I believe it was removed somewhere after 2021 / 2022.

The other one I find gripping is the “Happier Home of Robloxia”. I absolutely love the simple theme yet the complex textures made out of them. I’d say it’s quite unique and I’d encourage you to keep going.

I also gotta admire the “Garden of Leaves”; it’s such a peaceful and nice place, yet a portal to a somewhat retro Roblox, it really caught my attention. Sometimes this is exactly what a game needs.

My more recent maps take up a lot of time. The Happier Home showcase is something I’ve worked on since January, and I’ve came back to it from time to time to work on it, but that, and stud building in general, can be really time consuming. I also like to think that the quality of them is another factor to that too.
My older games may have took a few months too. I remember the castle one took about a month to make, but that was when I was still figuring out the kinks of Studio. I’ve used programs like Blender a lot, which is notorious for being a nightmare for beginners, but I remember getting used to it pretty quickly. Same could be said about Studio if you just keep practicing. That’s something that making these maps have taught me along the way. :‎)
