My lobby for my obstacle course race game looks bland. I am going to redesign it. What is important so that my game reaches front page quality?

I see many players join and leave after a few seconds and it might be because of the lobby. Do you have any thoughts?

What are important things in a lobby?

Players in a game could leave for many reasons, however for the lobby I would suggest doing a cartoony map with places to walk, maybe with a few secrets to entertain people whilst they wait for the next round.

However, I joined the game and I feel like players may join for a few seconds and leave because of the UI design, if you improved this and made it nicer and easier to read I think you could have more people that stay. Perhaps a simple UI with just the vehicles names, images and a bar of how good at the other stuff it is. Handling and Durability dont need a whole paragraph in my opinion.

Hope this helps, good luck in the future

Lobbies are the waiting place for rounds that players have to sit around in. Because they have to sit there, they want to pass time somehow, right? Simply having a couple balls to roll around isn’t the most exciting.

Take Super Bomb Survival’s lobby as an example.

It has a pretty big lobby, with fun things to do in it. There’s platforms to jump on, cannon to shoot yourself out of, and a piano that plays dog noises. These things are entertaining on it’s own.

You could also add a shop in the lobby. This is god because it lets players be aware of the shop.

I’m going to do a thing where if enough players do /e dance then a disco ball drops and disco music starts playing

In my opinion, I don’t think enough or no player will intend to do “/e dance” just for music to play, your lobby needs to look interesting and attractive to players view when I first join I was greeted with a difficult UI design to read. Try making it straight to the point, so users don’t have to spend a minute to read something about that useful item.

As for the feedback: the reason why users leave when they first join because the lack of decor around the lobby, you need to make it attractive players shouldn’t wait 39 seconds for the actual game to start without doing nothing. Lobby’s normally feature a variety of things to keep players interacting with each other whether it be socializing and more try adding things for the players to do while they wait add things like (minigames, underground areas, 1v1 matches, ect).

Make them interact with players instead of standing there doing nothing lobby’s feature a bunch of things for players to do you can set up shops so players can upgrade or buy useful car items and other things that are needed.
