Edit: Typo
As you all may know, Roblox recently went through a ban-wave in light of controversies surrounding the company’s policies on child safety, which thankfully affected many inappropriate games, but unfortunately affected some innocent games as well, (such as Write a Letter and Rate my Avatar, one might argue). I am not here to discuss those issues, as they are complex and multifaceted with varying points of view. Instead, I am here to ask for assistance on the situation regarding my own game, which I believe has been (probably) mistakenly affected amongst others.
My game, Bar do Bira (Brasil), appears to have been shadowbanned or placed under some form of review. I wouldn’t know exactly, since I have received absolutely no official notice on my account or any kind of email, and instead of displaying the standard “Under Review” message, the game’s page is simply inaccessible, displaying a 404 error. The game still appears on my profile and developer “create” dashboard, but is completely inaccessible to anyone.
Now, a bit of context. Bar do Bira is a Brazilian RPG-casual game that aims for some lighthearted storytelling, quests, and general “do whatever and have fun” features. While the map does include a building that is a “Bar,” our game is not a pub in the conventional sense, nor is alcohol consumption or anything inappropriate part of the experience. In Brazilian culture, bars, aka “botecos”, are a cultural symbol often depicted for comedic effect. The game contains no private bedrooms, no suggestive activities, no alcohol consumption, and we designed it carefully to remain appropriate for all ages.
While it does have a strong sense of community with players gathering socially, it is far from the “social hangout game” of the kind that Roblox might be targeting with recent moderation actions.
For these reasons, I’m inclined to believe that my game was mistakenly flagged simply due to its title containing the word “Bar.” It is not the type of experience these moderation measures are intended to address. That said, how do I proceed? Am I in the wrong? Please tell me if so, as all I seek is clarification and a solution. I will take any measures necessary to ensure the safety of children (cough cough-unlike some plaforms-cough) if that’s what the problem is. I have already sent Roblox Support an Email, but excluding that action, I feel completely powerless, and each moment that my game spends inaccessible is negative for the permanency of its playerbase. What can I do? Please let me know if I’m mistaken or if there is anything I can do.
Thanks in advance!
