Need help about building performance

Im building more terrain based maps (and not parts or triangles , real terrain). Problem is , when I build a massive terrain , my studio runs around 3-5 fps and my computer slows too. Before any question , yes my graphic level is low and almost closed all of rendering settings (ones about performance at least).

This is proably caused because of my computer.
Here , my equipment :
8gb RAM ,
Nvidia GeForce gt730 ,
AMD phenom II X4 810 processor.

I know my equipment is very old and not enough. So what I need to run studio better ?
More RAM or better CPU or better GPU?

Hello.
If you are talking about when it is generating the terrain; this is 100% normal. But what size are you doing? Do you have a video??

Your ram is a misleading 8gb of ram is on the low end today but that ram is DDR2 or DDR3. You’re limited in your upgrade path. I wouldn’t try to make anything bigger than a standard baseplate. All I can suggest is to only run Studio and have nothing else running. That or an entirely new PC because even if you find parts to upgrade the existing PC it would be minuscule performance difference.

If your computer is too slow to run it, odds are most of the people that will play your game will also have framerate problems. I’m not experienced in computer specs, but I do know a little bit about performance involving terrain.

  1. Start making your terrain thinner. It can really help cut down on terrain triangles (also called voxels). You can also try hollowing out mountains or hills, but sometimes that can lead to more voxels being created. I suggest downloading a plugin that automatically counts how many voxels there are.

  2. Use water sparringly. If you happen to use a lot, I suggest making as many water properties (can be found while selecting terrain) as close to zero as possible.

Thats all I wanted to hear , thanks for help.

Not the answer I wanted but ıll keep this on mind , thanks.
