Need help creating saturation slider

Hello!

I am not the most savvy in terms of UI so I need some help creating a saturation slider as I really don’t know how to. Note that I need help creating the visual, not creating the functionality.

I’ve tried using UI gradients but it seems UI gradients overlay their colour instead of modifying it, therefore I can’t figure out how to create a slider that gradually goes from grayscale to coloured.

Here’s what I have now, the leftmost side should be grey, matching the value of the purple and gradually goes to more saturated, eventually being 100% saturated on the right.

For that, you have to set the slider’s color to white then make the UI gradient use the gray-to-purple shade.
