I am planning a side project to complete in my own time. I aim to make an arcade type game which would not only appeal to people interested in aviation but a “universal” community (basically, you don’t need to understand aviation to play the game). I have two ideas for this but I’m having a hard time deciding and could do with some help. Below I have two options and a poll.
Option 1: This is an airplane manager game where you can buy planes which can fly passengers to and from their destination and unlock new airports. You can decide where each plane will fly at and what seating is inside the plane. However, you don’t want to go in debt for too long or you will lose and will have to start again. As you progress on the game, you can decide to add an airport to fly to from your hub. This is a tad bit similar to rise of nations except you need to compete against other airlines and try not to lose the game.
Option 2: This is a game where you can work as either cafe worker, ground crew, security, border control or check-in desk. You can choose what job you would like to do and there will be a tutorial on how to do this if it is their first time. I’m going to use a check-in attendant as an example. When you select this job, you will be able to check passengers in, ask where they are flying to and also drop baggage if they have any. As you progress, you gain experience points and once you unlock a new level, you might be able to gain some perks such as new check-in desks.
Which idea do you like best? Feel free to post any suggestions on these ideas if you want to.
