Hello. I am a low-poly style builder, and I recently built this for fun and can’t help but notice that something isn’t looking right. This is supposed to be a simple, incomplete build of a small countertop with brick pillars. I’ve tried changing the color, and replacing the pillars with more simple ones, but nothing works. I primarily need help on the coloring. I don’t really have an idea on what colors will fit this brick looking low poly style. I would like some feedback and suggestions please! Thanks. c;
Maybe use a dark shade of white but what I think it the real problem is you are only using two patterns for the brick and it makes it look kinda weird so maybe use one brick in some places and make 3 bricks and replacing that with the two bricks somewhere? honestly not sure but I would try it just to be sure
There’s some sites online that discuss color theory for design, and also provide examples of how various colors look together. I recall in one of the 2019 RDC videos on youtube, it was mentioned that Roblox Highschool developers used tools like this for coloring their maps.
I believe this might be a good youtube to watch from RDC 2019 where this is mentioned:
Maybe for the pillars use different shades of grey. Like the bricks can be a darker version of grey and the pillar itself can be a lighter verion of grey.
Give it like a bit more detail on like the platform that is ontop of the pillars.
As of right now it looks empty, just put like more of those kind of bricks.
I like the style your going for tho!
Thanks for the replies guys! I will definitey use your tips! In the meantime, I customized it a little, and I think with the addition of some lights and color changes, this new model will look way better. What I did is I added small corner elements to the pillars as seen in the image, which is something I wanted to do right off the bat, but forgot lol.
