Currently thinking of creating a vampire-related game. Does this genre seem dead? Should I switch vampires to something else?

After looking up vampire in games there are aton over twenty players but only like 4 over 50 and 2 over 100. It’s really more on what game you feel like making.

Vampires are not a very exciting genre. If you want to do something supernatural, I recommend a ghost or cryptid game.

I like that idea! It can work if you know what people are looking for. I suggest you be creative with this idea, so the game would be a hit! Maybe like a vampire mini-game like when one player becomes a vampire, also add modes to it as well! Like Infection, low gravity, etc. Be sure to combine some ideas to make the game more interesting.

It depends. I agree with what @Ty_IsHomeSchooled said as I don’t think vampires are too popular when compared to ghosts or other scary beings.
It all comes down to what would actually happen in the game and the incentive to play it. If you’re able to think of an idea unique enough and execute it well enough to get players hooked on the vampire genre then it would definitely work.

Personally, I think since the spooky season (Halloween) is over. People aren’t really in the mood for spooky kind of games. Like someone else posted, go with your dreams if you want to make a vampire game, go for it. A game is good when you enjoy making it.

What do you mean like a vampire related game? Like you need to specify what the game is exactly about so it is easier to give feedback.

Ok. If it is a horror then the game will do well if it is good since horror has always seemed to be popular on roblox. Maybe if it was a story game with ghost and all that it would be sick. Also a ghostbusters game on roblox would be sick also. Just some ideas you could look at to help you out.

Depends on what the game is about. Romance? Overdone. Horror? Well you’d have to put some work into it but it can work, and if done right it can be really goddamn sick. Comedy? I guess…
Ghosts are overdone in my opinion so vampires are a cool alternative.

I was thinking this too but not sure what to do.
I can do ghosts and probably obtain more visits/players or do vampires and hope it gets popular.

While ghosts get a lot of players, there isn’t really that much to them, while vampires can have a lot of cool gameplay mechanics. I would say if your game is short ghosts are more simple, but in the end it goes down to what you feel like making.
If you want to put your soul (pun intended) into the game then choose what you think is better on how you feel like, not on player statistics. 
In my opinion, I wouldn’t play it. But if your looking to do that kind of genre I’d do a “Hotel Transylvania” type of game just make sure you don’t break the DMCA law if you go with my idea.

Thank you for the advice, I’m possibly thinking of making a game based around fictional creatures. Vampires, ghosts, werewolves but all in one.

If you’re doing vampires it should be in rounds. Every round a player is chosen to be the vampire, and the vampire would go around the map chasing players to suck their blood. If not, then I suggest something similar.
