Negative parts and Unions broke

Not sure if this was intended, but for some reason, the pieces that have been removed by negative parts have the same color as the negative part remaining. The only way to remove them is by turning on UsePartColor. That’s a problem for me because I need the union to have seperate colors. Help?

You can’t union two different colors, it needs to have the same color so I’d recommend taking the part you’re gonna make into a negative part and do Ctrl + D to copy and paste an identical at the same position and then union one color at once that way this wont happen.

what’s this then? When I did something like this before, the negative parts didn’t imprint onto the end result

what

You can if you do UsePartsColor.

yeah I know, I had the same issue before, sometimes it doesn’t really happen, (in my experience) but sometimes it does

So the negative part’s color imprinting on the end union is just a bug?

I believe so, not quite sure myself but It’s caused when two different color tones are unioned

oh wait I just figured it out I need to have the negative parts use UsePartsColor

It’s not actually a bug. It’s an actual feature made in CSG v1. It was removed in CSG v2 due to some reasons, limitations perhaps. The feature was re-introduced in CSG v3. I’m actually quite glad it was brought back.
