Hey! I’ve been hard at work making this update and hope that you all enjoy it. I wanted to get this out 3 days ago but here we are! Better late than never?
Minigames
I’ve trialed this in the Underexposed tutorial route, and now its propagated throughout the rest of the heists. Every interaction now has an accompanying minigame, hoping to make the heists more interactive and fun.
They have been tested on controller (but not touch, oops. fingers crossed I guess) and things work, however controls aren’t communicated well. I noticed this too late in development and it’ll be fixed for V0.11, for now just mash buttons (I use A and B the most).
New Specialists UI
This is the first step in the greater V0.2 update, cleaner UI. This UI is easier on the eyes while being more self explanatory, reducing the need for the tutorial to stretch into the base (remember the part where you had to craft and upgrade Cassini? No more).
There’s also a smaller tutorial tweak, where it now pushes players more into doing another Underexposed run with the other entrances instead of turning the player loose after they complete crafting. Speaking of which:
Underexposed Personnel Refresh
While playtesting I realized that the minigames made the now old personnel entrance - where the player just had to swipe a KeyWave - kinda boring. So I refreshed it. You’ll now have to saw through a vent to get into it. Maybe later I’ll redo this entrance to be a lot more different, but that’s future me problem - we’ll see.
Smaller tweaks
Powerplay: The wall entry was broken. It is now fixed now.
Local Ambience System: Instead of having parts emitting sounds (like the cavemen did), which works fine for smaller operations and heists like Dead Drop and Underexposed, having multiple ambiences exposed how bad that ‘system’ was. Now it uses regions to determine which sound should be played.
Misc. Bug Fixes: Annoying little things kept getting in. Hopefully I’ve killed them, but only time will tell.
Gameplay trailer CHeck it out, its on the NEON D4YLIGHT page. Well hopefully, it’s still under review as of now.
I’m going to sleep.
