Hi Everyone Just wanted more precise feedback on a Never Gonna Give You Up Game: Rick Run
It’s a cool game, and a really awesome concept! I love it! I have a few suggestions:
-
Make the player go slower, so they have enough time to type, and figure out what’s going on.
-
Make it more clear to the player that they only have to enter single words of the song, not whole lyric lines. I first thought I had to type “Were no strangers to love”. Try telling this to the player not in the about section, but rather, below the text box where the player types lyrics, that way, they can’t miss it.
-
When the player dies, show them a little results UI about their run, and add two buttons on that results UI: One to go back to the menu, and one to play again. This would make it so they can feel like they can quickly improve upon their score since they aren’t taken to a menu with a dark background, which is separated from gameplay.

Make it so punctuation doesn’t matter. Currently, you have it so the player can’t have punctuation for it to work, and that’s great, but it would be better for the player if they can choose to enter punctuation or not, so they won’t get confused at first on why punctuation isn’t working. “Were”, and “We’re” should both be accepted.
There are players out there that won’t read the about section because they’re impatient, so you should try to tell them a few things during gameplay, like how they have to enter single words.
The typing rarely goes in order and you can’t type “I”…
It looks fun but I don’t know how to play.
This is an amazing concept and I always liked these types of games. The thing is the punctuation isn’t there but it doesn’t really matter since you have a “lyrics” section. Anyway, polish it and it may be a small/big succes depending on how you decide to expand it. The things that may just get in your way are: Copyright (since lyrics can be copyrighted) and background music (Since “Never gonna give you up” is out of the question for copyright)
Thanks For The Feedback Everyone!
