I’m a new composer looking for software to create my music with.
What I’m looking for
I need my software to be free, I currently don’t have a budget to spend on software. (feel free to include software for purchase that I could invest in later) I create quite large orchestral music so I need software that can lend itself to that, and I’d like to be able to actually score the music rather than use the MIDI editor.
Any support you could give relating to finding software or in general for a begging composer please do let me know below.
Thanks

For writing large orchestral music I personally find Musescore to be good. Like you said you want to be able to score the music, and this program is all that. I began using it in my Music Theory class and it is wonderful! Try it out let me know how it goes!
To add to this, I’d reccomend getting a custom soundfont if you’re not a fan of the default sounds
I’ve used the Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra SoundFont (listed lower on the page) personally and I’ve found it to be a huge improvement
Honestly, I’m not much of a composer, but I use Flat.
