New Creator Store Layout and Search

The filters get reset every time I search for audio in toolbox. It’s annoying to keep reapplying the filters.

When is the plugins tab getting reworked? Toolbox has went through like 3 redesigns already and the plugins tab doesn’t even have a search bar, a way to filter what plugins are active vs inactive or anything.

The design is… fine, but why is it so slow? It feels like it’s just a webapp, and that inside of an IDE should not be acceptable.
There also feels like there’s too many UI effects that are just unnecessary, I don’t need click effects for when I click on a menu icon. It just unnecessarily slows the UI down.
Please prioritize speed, then you can add effects.
TL;DR: It feels like a webapp, unresponsive and sluggish, with unnecessary aspects prioritized.

Does this mean that we’ll start to see changes in how assets in the marketplace are moderated?

We’ve talked about this before, but there are currently issues with the existing automatic moderation system. For example, long scripts (typically module scripts due to large data sets) get the asset instantly rejected. I can typically get assets like that appealed, but it makes it annoying to have to do that every single time I want to update said asset.

I’ve also asked in the past about potentially allowing assets to be updated modularly. This way, if I do want to update an asset like that in a way that doesn’t touch the parts that instantly get flagged, the new review would only have to be with the part of the asset that I have actually updated. This would make it significantly easier to update assets of that type.

Another alternative would be to allow remote requiring of modules again. I realize how this should be used to obfuscate things somewhat, but I believe there are ways that this could be counteracted. For example, the marketplace could block modules that remotely access other modules. This would allow for the original requiring script (or any other non-module script in the asset) to still require modules remotely while only having one layer of remote requires, making it far easier to moderate. This would obviously have no impact on non-remote module requiring. Also, all remotely required modules would have to be open to the marketplace (not privated).

In any case, I’m just looking for a way to update these types of assets without creating unnecessary downtime. This is especially true for plugin-type assets.

Here are some real examples:

  • Dynamic Head ←→ Classic Face
In this asset, I can’t even upload it to the marketplace without breaking rules or getting automatically flagged. The large database modules will also always get flagged due to their size. They’re currently appealed, but it’s very slow and annoying. If remotely requiring modules were allowed, I’d be able to properly publish this asset to the marketplace.

  • API Service
This asset has a massive database of every class in Roblox. Luckily, the ReflectionService exists now, but, in its current state, it’s not really what many creators are looking for. It’s currently missing important tags, which you can read more about here and here.

cool update but is there way to hide like “Shop New” and items that need to be paid to use?
creator store purchases not even supported in my country, what’s the reason for it to be there?

Is there a reason why we can’t search by rating for plugins like how we can for models?

Roblox Library would load within a second to 2, and now it takes 30 seconds often times to load any create.roblox.com website. It’s on and off, but load times for places, assets, and games used to be a lot faster. Roblox’s internal tooling to build websites with stackable templates instead of program the CSS by hand has made the website a lot more shakier and slow.

I used to be able to use the drop-down to immediately select the category I needed, and it was labelled very clearly, but now it’s kinda scattered into all those buttons. I think it would be nice if you re added the drop down and next to it added this more specific list. That would make it much better.

I have a feeling that this will be like before, click the checkbox & import anyways, builders won’t know all the details like Roblox Engineers / Scripters do!

I think something like this is needed instead on top of it! Actually detect malicious models:

How is it possible that there is still a black-market for exploits

Not gonna lie but I prefer the older creator store, is there any way I can revert it back?

sadly not, it’s not even in beta features. toolbox is kinda just stuck like this now

Haha I see, I see. Would you prefer a quicker way to click into the top level category instead of needing to open the accordion?

The pagination issue shouldn’t be happening though, it should be storing your progress into wherever you end up if you click into a detail page and then go back. Will look into that!

Absolutely. I’ve gotten hung up multiple times looking for decals because of this.

That shouldn’t be happening, we should have a fix for that soon.

Good catch, we’ll add that in

Possibly. We are making some pretty major changes soon which should hopefully reduce the need for such an aggressive automod, but some false positives are an unfortunate side effect until we can more systematically address / prevent bad content from being published to Store.

Is there a possibility that you could restore the old studio UI. I really prefer that one because its more simpler and I am used to it.

Honestly, I’m getting more frustrated with this the more I use it.
It’s extremely slow and just feels, again, like you slapped a web browser in an IDE, which I’m pretty sure is exactly what was done. It just makes me avoid using it as much as possible.
Just that makes the old UI miles better, even though it was (and still is in the my inventory - KEEP IT THAT WAY) it is just a better experience than a webapp.
My suggestion would be to remake it and to actually have it not be, what at least feels like, a sloppily made webapp.

Discord yesterday legit felt better, even with it’s broken API.

After my request here :

It seems that the new Creator Store Search has gotten even worse.
a) Now instead of going back to the search start page - showing all the items available for your search…
b) now it goes back to the opening page for all selections - meaning even the search words entered are now gone - which means - once you view something (opening up with magnifying glass) - and you close it - you are sent to the very beginning - and can’t easily view any other items related to your search.

Please fix this !! It is very annoying having to view only 1 item per text query.
