The new draggers are useless in their current state, and now it seems like there is no way to disable them.
The Shift + X/C to disable snapping simply does not work on my end. I am not sure what they are meant to disable anyways ? The little white snap dots that seemingly appear on any random surfaces ? The actual increments in the toolbar ? Holding Shift to disable snapping ALSO disables the increment, despite the increment being toggled on. This means that right now there is simply no way of precisely dragging and resizing a part to, say, size 3.0 if by choatic chance there is a white snapping target dot that decided to summon itself on the nearest unrelated geometry just nearby, snapping my size to 3.0223, and since holding shift disables both snapping AND increment, I have to eyeball it.
Expected behavior
I expect the Shift + X/C to actually work and be clearer in what they are supposed to disable / enable in the first place. Additionally, holding shift should not disable increment at all, just snapping.
I agree. When dragging along meshes, they no longer snap to the bounds and loosely slide around the surface. It’s super messy. What would have taken me a second to align is taking me like 3 minutes.
Here is a clip showing increments being ignored in favor of that snapping target, and having no way of disabling the snapping target without the increment also being disabled:
pumping again since this is getting in the way of my building, even a way to make it go back to the old snapping would be a blessing, aligning with your snap now is like trying to pick a needle out of a haystack, genuine it just starts going into the 0.00001s
The white snapping points really should not be the default, they should be something you hold a hotkey to get. There’s just no way to get rid of them (unless I missed it)! It’s making everything take so much longer. Setting an increment is almost useless now unless what you’re dragging is surrounded by absolutely nothing.
To @IWacky_Galaxy@DragonsTHUNDER3@littlebird78 And all the others that might stumble upon this post. I was able to find out how to disable snapping and it was hidden in this menu just besides the move and rotate increment:
THANK YOU!! i also found that (and i am sure these are likely in other spots i just can’t find them), if you add tools and search “snap,” there are these toggles as well.
