Would be a good addition to this feature request:

BasePart.CustomDisplayProperties

CustomPhysicalProperties have done wonders in allowing us to unlink BasePart behavior from their materials. Materials still do limit what we can do with parts though. CustomDisplayProperties for BaseParts would resolve this issue.
