THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST UPDATES I HAVE EVER SEEN ON THIS PLATFORM.
It is going to ruin Roblox. Anyone with the skills to code or build, or who has great game ideas, is mostly going to quit. They will naturally move to other engines like Godot or Unity.
It looks like you only care about money forcing a subscription just to publish a game for all ages is proof of that. But even if you only care about profit, this is a terrible business move. It is going to break this platform. The number of new games will drastically drop as developers quit saying âI canât take this anymore!â
Once the stream of new games dries up, the player base will follow. Every game is fun for a while, but all games have a lifecycle. Once a gameâs lifecycle ends, only a fraction of players stay. Without a constant flow of new experiences, player numbers will inevitably drop, turning this update into a slow self-destruct mechanism for Roblox.
When Roblox was created, it was about âcreating games and reaching a community easily.â But now, itâs not about that anymoreâyou donât power imagination. The people who have great imagination canât easily publish their ideas to the community. You already ruined the chat system with 'age verification why? Because you couldnât afford a proper moderation team? (Arent you a multi-billion dollar company?)
Now, you are ruining the platformâs core identity: âPowering Imagination.â
It looks like someone wants to push the âSelf-Destructâ button just for money. But donât forget: money wonât keep coming unless you actually do great things, because the Roblox community is not stupid.
If you want actual proof that these decisions are impacting the platform, look at the market: Roblox losing over 70% of its peak stock value is not a coincidence. It is a direct reflection of flawed decisions and questionable management. Keep pushing updates like this, and that chart will only reflect the consequences.
Never forget: this platform wasnât built by a corporate team alone. The community built it, brick by brick. Without developers creating and publishing games, the platform wouldnât exist as it is TODAY. A single company cannot build millions of games, but a dedicated community can.
Please keep that in mind. Also please understand that these criticisms donât come from a place of malice or negativity. We, as the developer community, genuinely want Roblox to succeed and thrive. We share these concerns because we care deeply about the future of this platform and the creators who built it. Our goal isnât to tear down the platform, but to help protect the ecosystem that made Roblox special in the first place.
Facts! They just gave us a big slap in the face by only lowering it half way which is still too steep. Safe to say this is THE worst update they have ever made.
If the community and developers actually dread when updates are announced, then You as a company isnt doing something right, since every new update is most likely bad news or things that didnt need to be touched.
Well at least theyâre listening to us, before they wanted only the Plus requirement, they later introduced the refundable 1000 robux fee, and they also introduced the 100,000 expedition fee to bypass the evaluation process, and now they lowered it from 500 players to 250 players, we might get more updates later in late-2026, most notably November 2026.
