Newly created Union operations do not render on player client

Studio Version: Version 0.708.0.7080878 (64bit)

Newly created union operations do not render on the Roblox player. Studio and playtesting are not effected. Created operations do have collision, but neither shadows nor the union model is visible.

Expected behavior

In studio, you select a collection of valid parts that are combined to make a new union. These parts should align and merge in an optimized way to create a new model. The model should appear just as it was created in studio, assuming no scripting or in-game changes are done during gameplay.

Once the place is published with the union operation made, the player will join on the Roblox player client and be able to see and collide with the Union assuming collision is enabled.

Same thing here even trying to create a new union is crashing studios for all team creators.

I am encountering the same problem, it’s very irritating. Everyone also gets kicked off the team create due to “connection loss” whenever someone unions something.

Same issue here, the unions don’t render but do have collisions. I suggest disabling the Improve Studio Solid Modelling Controls" Beta feature as that fixes the invisible unions issue for me.

(Do note unions created with the beta feature enabled will return error code -6 which might mean the union is corrupted so you need to rollback to before you made the union with it.)

I’m encountering the same issue and I would turn this beta feature off, however doing this results in studio using the outdated union calculations and can cause unions to be less performant. As this is not a serious problem (in my case), I would rather wait for Roblox to hopefully resolve the issue.

Yeah, it’s the only working solution now. The outdated union calculations are so bad that you have to union a few times to somehow get a lower triangle count or prevent Z-fighting

Hey, thanks for reporting this! I think this was due to an bug exposed by the Improved Studio Solid Modeling controls beta. We have fixed the issue this morning, so all parts created with the studio beta should render correctly on clients.
Additionally, we are currently rolling out a secondary fix that should make unions that were created over the last few days with the studio beta render correctly again.
