Next Gen Studio - Preparing for Takeoff! [Beta]

Because it’s always been like that and the space that they would take up on the ribbon is negligible as well. The extra click being necessary to reach the button in either context (through edit or going on a new tab) is clunky and annoying compared to the old layout where it was right there and always accessible. Why do any of the playtest buttons take up space on the ribbon then? They have shortcuts for them and could be moved to their own tab as well. It’s because it doesn’t feel good to have to do that constantly for an action as common as playtesting, which the same can be said for the undo/redo buttons

I have a use case that NEEDS to be considered, and I know many other people do too.

Many of us are still stuck in the routines from as early as the 2010s. I remember when the “Ribbon Bar” was introduced, it was my worst enemy. Fortunately, you guys provided us with the “Quick Access Toolbar” which perfectly mimics the previous Studio. I have my QATB laid out pretty much how Studio was way back when.

I rarely open the ribbons; only if I need some of the more advanced modern tools. I have problems adapting to significant workflow changes, and if I cannot replicate the QATB in the modern Studio, this could very well throw me off the platform.

Has this use case been considered?

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned in this thread yet but if you have multiple roblox studio windows open at once (as in, two separate places open at the same time, not plugin windows or whatever) then the tooltips you get when hovering over stuff gets all sticky and doesn’t want to go away until you switch to the other studio window.

SVG icons would be cool, and I’m definitely not saying that because that would mean SVG icon support for developers since the new UI uses the UI tools we get.

This is the weirdest bug.
I’ve done many PlayTest Sessions, had multiple Studios open at once. And something must have triggered this.

No matter how often I reload studio, if I turn off / turn on the new feature, every button is unresponsive visually, and the Union Buttons are rendered useless.

During the video it seems to temporarily fix itself when putting a new tab into the ribbon bar.

It is a temporary fix because right after the “Separate” & “Union” button get stuck again

The only error message I have in my output is:

23:02:03.562 Failed to apply StyleRule property 'Color' from '.X-Gradient100-Deg0 ::UIGradient': Unable to cast Color3 to ColorSequence - Studio
23:02:03.562 Failed to apply StyleRule property 'Color' from '.X-Gradient100-Deg180 ::UIGradient': Unable to cast Color3 to ColorSequence - Studio

The “Model” Tab seems to work fine, I have no clue what could have caused this permanent “brokenness”?

I was debugging a plugin and it seems if you unload / delete a plugin that as created a toolbar, studio will keep that as an option in the select tools menu (even the plugin menu too) until you restart studio, minor problem but slightly annoying when theres a bunch of the same toolbar in the tab menu

 Hi!. Here is the new Studio UI.
I made my own tab called “Optimization” and I really enjoy using this feature tbh ,

 But I think it would be better and flexible if instead of spam clicking so many times just to rearrange the tool to the left or right to whatever we like,

 What if we can do the “Click and Drop” feature so that the tool icon can move around the place wherever we want.

Here’s what we need in the new UI Studio when it comes to UI flexibility

:+1: Yup, on Roblox Player we already have that and it feels so satisfying and fast:

Hey! Thanks for your time and reading. Hopefully, this will help many Roblox Studio users

Microsoft Edge Icon Bar

I would love for the ribbon toggle button to be readded. currently the shortcut doesn’t seem to work for me.

Aside from that, the undocking option only being visible after right clicking makes it kinda hard to notice. it’s nice to have an actual button for it, it doesnt take up much real estate and makes it easier to notice.

I noticed in the Next Gen Studio, it uses a separate field for storing said shortcut.

Not sure why, but just thought I’d mention it since it took me a few to realize.
