That process makes sense. Thanks a lot for the transparency
I’m looking forward to how the final product of this update will be :)! Outside of the small things it’s looking very good so far

Thank you for giving yourselves the necessary time to work on this. This was a primary concern I had from seeing the initial target date.
More than likely all of those features they “removed” can be added back in if you took the time to explore some of the new features next-gen has like custom tabs instead of immediately hating on it unreasonably…
hi, is would be nice to put a scroll bar here
as the default clicky scroll bar is kind of disorientating to me personally. (though i might just have issues)
gl on the studio rework
Thank you for the confirmation. I was worried as it seemed like it was going to come out in June, as you pushed for “early June” and later pushed for late in June. But these release times were only targets and nothing official. I was only concerned as June kept being brought up in discussion.
I am glad it’s getting the time it needs. And I thank you for your transparency!
Only issue I currently face is whenever I press enter it renames whatever I am selecting unlike the old studio which conflicts with some plugins I use often.
“Beta Anniversary”
One thing we’ve been working on behind the scenes is the ability to over-the-air (OTA) update the UI without needing to wait for a weekly release — another benefit of going Lua for the front end. So we’ve got some really cool updates that should be coming more quickly starting this week.
Basically, by the time we fully release nothing should be a surprise to those that have been following the Beta Preview. It just simply won’t be a Beta feature any longer.
Where exactly is this happening in our new UI? This sounds like Explorer without more details.
This is old Qt UI (so not in scope for this feature). We hope to take this over along with a new docking system at some point.
That’s awesome! Finally you guys can fix the colors through OTA
Not many betas have this privilege, this is a great time for release! (1.5+ Years worth of development lmao)
It happens when I have something selected in explorer then click back into the game view. If I use a plugin that requires pressing enter, studio focus back on the explorer and starts renaming the selected object instead of allowing the plugin to perform its action.
I just tested it without the Next Gen Studio, and it still happens though I remember this not being the case before. Maybe something changed, or I just didn’t notice it previously.
Got it! The Explorer is a separate Beta can you try flipping it off and see if you see different behavior? I can pass this along to that team.
Color updates are indeed in the pipeline. Won’t likely land until 6/25-ish
