I logged onto Roblox studio today to make a new game and test stuff, but I was confused as of why my avatar looked weird, and turns out Adaptive R6 was on, which as far as I was aware you were able to disable it via Workspace > AvatarUnificationMode, because in my opinion, it’s ugly. But when I go to look, it’s nowhere to be found.
So what is happening? Is Roblox officially forcing me to use R15 and paint it as R6 because its animated like it? Do I have to rely on old blank games made before this update to not have it enabled? On the Devforum post about Adaptive R6, the only mention of being able to disable it is through the AvatarUnificationMode property. It really doesn’t seem like Roblox gives a crap about developers who like to use R6.
Anyways I’m really annoyed by this so any advice would be appreciated.
Still looking to disable it all together but researching some more I saw a post saying disabling team create fixes it, but it doesn’t. So I found a post that provides a simple script to set it to classic R6 when spawning. Although I shouldn’t have to rely on a script for it. Please if anyone knows why I can’t disable it normally or if Roblox did something please tell me.
How terribly confusing. I don’t mind them merging R6 into R15 in principle but the new “unification mode” isn’t it. The R6-but-R15 they have right now have the ugly R15 divots in the arms and legs in the standard 1.0 blocky look and I can’t stand that. I hope they fix that before needlessly enforcing R15 on all of us. I don’t like how they hid the R6 button in a random, tiny spot in the Studio UI without directing people how to fix it. I was wondering why a new game of mine no longer had the unification mode setting and thought R6 was about to get removed today before I googled it and found this post. Thought I’d give my thoughts on the situation.
