When Cool Creations was opened up to TL1 for replying and TL0 for viewing, it was encouraged that any showcases and feedback requests for work should be redirected to Cool Creations and the support categories should be kept more for resolving actual troubles in a specific area of Roblox development.
Building Support is, to my knowledge, the only category that is still troubled with adopting this change. There are more feedback posts there than there are actual help requests or discussions about building on Roblox. I’ve been moving a couple of posts over but I don’t want to be setting any weird precedents or mass moving threads. I’m just an editor.
It would be helpful if it was clarified that Cool Creations is intended for showcases while support categories are for resolving game development troubles. It would also be amazing if Developer Relations (and the Community Sages) could revisit renaming the category to be more appropriate towards work showcases, since it doesn’t quite fit the bill of “Cool Creations” anymore.
I think renaming Cool Creations to something like “Showcases And Feedback” would be helpful, along with changing the default draft text for the support categories to be more simple and explicitly point out they’re for technical support not feedback, just an example:
It could justify punishing users more severely if they post those topics without reading this text.
Changing the draft texts would definitely have a stronger impact than changing the categories name. However, in case a name change were to happen, I do feel like changing it to something similar to “Creations Feedback” would suit it better than “Showcases and Feedback”, as the ultimate purpose of Cool Creations is to receive constructive criticism and feedback.
Please consider using the current “What are you working on?” topic if you are not looking for in-depth feedback, or when your post is short.
Naming it “showcases” could justify threads being created simply to “show off” or gain likes, which is the opposite of what Cool Creations should be used for.
