Notifications will randomly be delayed by days

Currently, there is a bug that occurs at seemingly random with notifications. When someone replies to you in a thread that you are tracking, sometimes the notifications take a few days instead of a few seconds to show up in your notifications tray.

For example, this reply from an engineer did not appear in my notifications inbox until just now despite the reply being 2 days old:

It might be related to recent announcement threads getting a lot of negative engagement bogging down the forum servers.

Expected behavior

It is expected that notifications would be sent in a timely manner.

Can confirm this has been happening to me too. Usually takes 24 hours for a notification to get delivered.

Yeah just saw the same thing happen. Notification was delayed by a little over 24h, but not quite 2 days. Maybe 32h

Yeah, I’ve also noticed this. Not sure if there’s a search filter way to check for replies ahead. Been missing a lot of stuff that are reply related.

in:replies though I don’t see a way to search for who was replied to

Looks like I’m not the only one! Notifications for new announcements (ā€œWatching First Postā€) are usually days late so I’ve disabled it for now, reply notifications usually come in after a few hours.

I can confirm this because it actually happened to me

Can confirm.

I also get ā€˜Ghost Notifications’ too.
ie, I get a reply notification, go onto it, and interact with it. A day later, notification pops up and I’ve seen I’ve already replied to it (this implies that I’ve already acted upon that notification and dismissed it).

Also pretty sure it still happens even when I dismiss notifications, too.
