OBJ files to Minecraft-style blocks in Roblox Studio

Obj2Blox is a lightweight Roblox Studio plugin that transforms standard 3D models (.obj) into customizable, blocky, Minecraft-style structures using native parts. A short demo & tutorial:

Simply paste your OBJ and (optionally) MTL raw text directly into the plugin’s interface and generate your model instantly.

Key Features:
Text-Based Import: Copy and paste OBJ/MTL data directly—no file system setup required.
Voxelization Control: Adjust part size to determine the “resolution” of your blocky model.
Automatic Correction: Built-in tools for automatic rotation and object filtering to clean up your scene.

Material Support: Uses MTL data to apply colors and properties to the generated blocks.

You can get it from store:

How to Use:
Open your .obj and .mtl files in any text editor.
Copy the content and paste it into the Obj2Blox UserForm.
Set your preferred part size and rotation.
Hit generate and watch your model be built block-by-block.

Ideal for retro aesthetics, destructible voxel environments, and stylized builds.

This is so cool!

I’ll definitely check it out.

Reminds me of the grow a garden models-ish and all these new (I hate mentioning this) brainrot games on the platform.

Good work!

is it possible to adjust the amount of cubes the model has?

yes, by adjusting the block size - the bigger blocks, the smaller amount. I show it somewhere in the middle of the YT video.
