Occlusion Culling is Culling Non-Occluded Parts

Parts are randomly culled without rhyme or reason. None of our scripts in game change the transparency of parts or destroy them, so we are suspecting Occlusion Culling is doing this. This has only started recently after today’s studio update, Ver. 0.672.0.6720706 . We are in a team create (2 Members).

Expected behavior

Parts should not be Culled when they are not occluded.

Hey! @FizzineDev

It definitely looks like the Occlusion Culling system is prematurely hiding parts that are still visible to the camera.

Would recommend checking:

  • If the issue persists in solo mode vs. Team Create.
  • If it affects parts with Transparency = 1 or just fully opaque ones.
  • If changing StreamingEnabled or StreamingPauseMode affects anything.

This might be a regression tied to their new rendering culling optimizations. Definitely feels like a candidate for rollback or patch.

Hello Fizzine, thanks for the report. We can’t seem to reproduce the issue you are seeing. Will it be possible for you to send the repro case so we can investigate further. Thank you.

I’m unsure what you are referring to by “repro case”. If you mean the steps, there aren’t any really. It would just start happening after 3-5 seconds into playtesting.

A day later, and we haven’t been able to replicate this either since this report went up.

I am certain that he’s talking about the place or game that you experienced this issue at.

The game is private, but this is the place.

I suggest you to send the RBLX file of it in a private message to @fnublox since Roblox staff can’t actually have access to private places. He could also add you for you to give him teamcreate access to it but I believe that’s more complicated and unnecessary. This is the best way to help Roblox staff help you solve this bug for you.

Thanks for sending the RBLX file. Unfortunately, we couldn’t reproduce the reported issue as well which makes this a bit tricky. This has been noted though.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if this issue shows up again.

Thank you again for the report, really appreciate it  .
