Recently I just noticed that theres some new lighting artifacts when the edge of my flashlight is meeting a wall. Not sure what is causing it or what to do about it, as I never saw it happening before and I never made any updates to my lighting or my flashlight.
Also, its only showing up when i am facing nearly the same angle that the wall is at adjacent to myself. If I shine my light on it at more than like a 5 degree angle it goes away.
Not sure how visible it is on a compressed video, but I hope you can see well enough.
Epilepsy warning?
Is this new for anyone else? Does anyone have a fix for this?
Here are my lighting settings and the flashlight settings:
Sorry, but could you elaborate on what exactly you mean by sending a log? I don’t get any crash logs or any general logs like that, its just happening in both Roblox and Roblox Studio.
In the video, both fogstart and fogend are at inf. I’ve tried messing around with different values, but it still consists no matter what, including if I put an atmosphere in.
Where did you send the logs? Was it to @MaxCaulfield_001 ?
Could you please post the logs and repro file in the private message section so we can try to repro this issue internally?
I’ve noticed this bug with many of my projects over the last few years of using future (now "realistic) lighting. The artifacts tend to be very noticeable when said light is shined directly parallel to an object’s face. That’s why walls make this highly apparent. Normally, this isn’t a huge deal unless your game requires non-stationary lighting. Then the artifacts start becoming an eye sore and an emersion breaker. I swear I’ve read into this a long time ago and the solution was something along the lines of “This is the result of multiple lights enabled from the exact location in space”, but this is not the case here. This is a fresh workplace with no special settings.
