i think you are talking about allign rotation
Press ctrl+L (or alt+L i forgot) to disable it
Alternatively right click on the empty spot with nothing selected would bring up the option to disable it
I’m fine with align rotation although it’s a little wack on cylinders and if i could change it to the legacy way I would but it’s fine.
It’s that yellow line and selecting and dragging cylinders, wedges, parts, and balls that make it slightly infuriating and causes my selection to make the parts clip through whatever i’m dragging on.
It even causes some parts that i drag on to be misaligned by a small amount causing me to double check everything I edit.
The clipping sounds like a collision/interaction issue with the new selection logic. There isn’t a way to toggle that specific visual behavior off, so you’re stuck with it unless they add a setting back in.
