Old account with my actual name

Hey! When I was young I made an account with the username exactly equal to my government name. That’s an issue because I want to use that account. I want to change the username but I’m not willing to pay 1000 robux because even if I do, the name shows up in the past usernames list which again is a privacy risk. I contacted Roblox support but obviously they are horrific. They told me to verify ownership and when asked how they simply said “we aren’t telling”. So, how do I message them and how do I verify the ownership? What do I do?

Make a support ticket and explain your situation and you should be granted a name change for free. I wouldn’t suggest spending money to get your name changed as your previous username would still essentially have your dox in it under the “previous usernames” section. Having support change your name won’t have your old name show up in previous usernames. Hope this helps!

Pretty sure even in this case you can still actually ask support to delete a previous username under those circumstances.

That’s usually under the pretense that your username holds info regarding your real identity, otherwise they usually do not grant it! They’re very inconsistent with it.

That’s exactly what I had said in the original topic. This is what they said:

Unfortunately, we don’t have enough information to verify ownership of this account. Without verification, we are unable to assist further with your request.

You always have the option to create a new account. If you choose to do so, we recommend adding and verifying your email address upon account creation, as this allows us to verify ownership and allows you to use the reset password feature.

We appreciate your understanding.

Upon asking how I can verify my ownership, they simply responded that they can’t.

Can’t they just trace IPs and ensure that the account creation request and the latest login request match?

I really don’t want to create a new account.

This is common Roblox Support nonsense, keep responding and insisting that there is a mistake, more than likely you’ll eventually get somebody to actually help you in the ticket. Provide billing info and the original email if you haven’t already, as that is good proof of ownership.

That’s an issue. The account previously lacked an email and billing information.

Then I would convince support to look over the IP’s as they can also be used to verify ownership, I have gotten locked empty alts back through doing this. Keep in mind it might take awhile given how support can be and where they claim that they “can’t” help you!
