About Me
Oh, Hello. I’m the author of a rather deep and challenging book for kids called the “Caretaker Defiance Guide”. I am trying to make a game to market the book a little bit. Look it up if you want. There’s a link to it’s website here: https://twitter.com/defiance4kids But, to be honest, these concepts will probably work better in a game type medium than a book. Unlike the book, I’d like to focus more on scenarios and less on terminology.

Game Concept
Hmm, I don’t see as many posts pitching game ideas as I expected.
Anyway, I want this game to be a city full of grownups with rules just waiting to be broken!
The game would play like this:
- Go to a village to meet a grownup.
- They have a worldview that doesn’t fully consider a child’s perspectives
- You “help” them understand with a sort of minigame
- They change their world view and become “nice now”
- Repeat until you are able to do it for all grownups in the village
Example: You talk to a grown up who is sad that they have to watch pottery all day. Why do they watch the pottery? Because pottery looks nice. The players would then “help” them so they do not need to watch the pottery anymore by using their “special talents”. The grownup would initially be mad, but then be grateful and understanding.
I was thinking this game could be split up between different areas.
1st area: I think the first area would have grownups who are in control of their lives and it only takes convincing them to change to get them to change. No wrong answers here.
2nd area: would have adults that have to follow rules, and convincing them to try things a different way is one step in getting things to change.
3rd area: is adults who aren’t in control of their life, but pretend they are. Would be ultra hard to “help” them become “nice now.”
So, it kind of starts pretty unrealistic and then eases them into more accurate portrayals of adults. Eventually I would like to address the existence of Bad People and how they affect caretakers’ decisions in ways they don’t seem to talk about. I think these Bad People would always be friendly and not-threatening to players, but they would try to convince players to be bad. Like getting them to rob a bank or something.
Perhaps there would be a mechanic called “Defiance Level” which is defined as “the number of times you can invite a mean grownup to see things a different way in a conversation” So low level players and their friends team up to confront the adult and wear them out till they become “nice now.”
(This game would support multiple players talking to a single NPC, If you want to try the ultra buggy version to see how it works, run the attached project in Roblox Studio click test on top of the studio and start a local server with up to 5 players)

About The Job
Looking for a partner who would be willing to discuss what to do next, and work on some aspect of the project.
Been working on projects by myself for more than 10 years. It’s not working out for me anymore. I can handle the complex things like debugging the multiplayer dialog system. But when I get to the mundane stuff, I can’t handle it anymore. It’s also been getting hard for me to switch quickly between tasks that require different skills. Animating, Scripting, GUI, Landscape, and NPC design would be the most useful skills at the moment. I could probably use help with the mini games too. Even just looking for the right sound effect for the right situation would help a lot.
Payment
Maybe we should try each other out a little bit before we talk about that. Alas, I have sold less than 10 books. I have ideas for monetizing the game, but I’d like to firstly see if people like playing the 1st area previously mentioned. Perhaps we could discuss a percentage of the profits or something.
Contact
Message me on here. If you like the book or the game concepts, you should let me know! We can probably work something out. I could even walk you through how to do roblox studio stuff if you want to learn! (but I’m a little new at this too)
18+ for partners, worker buddies
13+ if you would like to offer your support in other ways, in a “I’d like to volunteer my unprofessional help, tell me what you need done” sense.
Thanks!
