[OPEN] Music Artist / Game Composer for Hire | ShootingCat

You can also check out my more brief portfolio on this website: https://shootingcat.carrd.co

Sup! I’m ShootingCat, a 19 year old music artist and game composer who is looking for an opportunity to create quality soundtracks/music for your games. Started making music in 2020, when Covid started, doing a music project for school, but continued to do it more professionally starting from 2023, so you could say for around 3 years now.

The day when I decided to start composing soundtracks for games was when I participated for the first time in a contest to create a fitting soundtrack for yet-to-be-released Roblox game named Parkour Reborn.

And look what happened after:

I WON!! Cool, right? Anyways, that was the beginning of my game composing career.

I specialize in electronic (more on the EDM side), ambient and experimental music, but sometimes, if needed, can create something cinematic. (See my work in the Showcase section for more info). I use FL Studio 21 for production and composing

Alright, now let’s get to the part where I can show off my work :flexed_biceps:

Most of my music can be seen through my portfolio website here: https://shootingcat.carrd.co
But I will leave some of my best work right here to listen to, showing off the different styles I can do.

“Mixed Feelings”

“Paths”

“Wonder”

"Lively Space

“Skyline (not published)”

“Moving On”

“Empty Space”

“Forward”

“Synthwave Beat”

And what is a game composer doing here without some game music? Here are the games that I composed for:

Infinite Journey

It was originally made for an older game named Infinity Breaker, but was later added to Infinite Journey as well.

This was the first game that I had a soundtrack composed for and used by the creator of the game.

“Infinity”

Ultimate Mining Tycoon

Now this is something serious here.

I remember the first time I played this game and it was still in early development. The thing that bothered me the most was the lack of music to capture the atmosphere of the game. So I decided to contact the developers of the game and they agreed to use my soundtracks that I made at the time. And now seeing it pop-off to the front page was just an amazing thing to see knowing that I contributed to this game.

“Cave Mystery”

“Depth Risk”

“Engineer’s Dream”

“Further Down”

“Miner’s Bliss”

Decaying Winter / Decaying Winter: Lost Concept

The most soundtracks I have ever composed for a very well-recognized game.

There was an open application to fill out for the Music Artist role, so I did, went through the selection process, made a demo to show what I can do, and then got hired! At first I made many soundtracks, but only one made it out to public at that time for an event.

“Last Stand (it was originally meant for something else)”

After a long development period of developers developing the developed game (i wanted to joke here a bit) , the soundtracks made for the Lost Concept update were finally released.

Not gonna bother too much of uploading every single soundtrack, but the whole album can be seen here: Decaying Winter : Lost Concept (Original Game Soundtrack Album) - Album by ShootingCat | Spotify

Holy poopie
At first I thought “Oh cool, this guy makes decent electro soundtracks” but then I heard the soundtracks you made for Ultimate Mining Tycoon
You’re genuinely talented and have a wide range of moods and vibes you can pull off in your soundtracks
Just out of curiousity, have you ever worked with string or wind instruments?
Anyway, wish you all the best and good luck with your future endeavours

With real ones? Not at all. With their digital counterparts (plugins)? Of course and have used strings in some tracks. There is one track that I made for a guy with both strings and wind instruments, but never finished their game, so it remained unused.

Thanks for asking! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It’s music to my ears (literally)
But yeah, holy crap you’re so good at music

I asked about strings because for some reason I just LOVE intense soundtracks with them like in Darkest Dungeon :sob:

I’m gonna keep an eye on your work and all the projects you’re invlolved in
Can’t wait to see what games will be blessed with your talent in the future c:
