Opera GX - Roblox Profiles Slow Down Entire PC When Opened

Ever since Roblox introduced the newer profiles, I and other friends who specifically use Opera GX have had to basically avoid opening Roblox profiles like the plague ever since. Opening a profile just results in a complete overload of my browser — everything freezes for like 1-3 minutes including off-browser, it applies to my whole PC. This is seemingly only happening on Opera GX, I tried loading profiles on Brave and Chrome and they loaded fine there. I don’t have any Roblox plugins.

Browser used: Opera GX 124 on Windows 11

Are any other Opera users experiencing this?

Expected behavior

Open a Roblox profile on Opera GX, entire PC lags out/freezes for a few minutes until the profile is closed

Have tried other browsers?, if occur only with opera i reccomend reporting as bug to the opera browser as final steps after tried using another device.

I have a similar issue with opera GX but then with group pictures ( if you view someones profile ) they refuse to load.

What error is says? Have did tried restarting the device?.

No errors, group logo just stays white.

same here on brave browser
it’s super annoying cause it takes minutes for the tab to close by itself

It’s this new avatar thing.

Solution: Turn off Brave filters, so they can track all yo data

The issue could not be reproduced on either Opera GX or Brave browsers. All tested profiles (self profile, friend profile, and non-friend profile) load correctly, with no observed performance issues.

Device: Laptop - Windows 11

Browsers:

  • Opera GX: Chromium version:145.0.7632.117
  • Brave: 1.88.138 / Chromium: 146.0.7680.178
