Original Marketplace Items Falsely Flagged as Duplicate Content - Appeals Instantly Denied

As the title suggests, this issue is affecting original items, yet appeals are seemingly not being read or even acknowledged. Staff seem to skip right ahead to accusing creators of stealing their own original items and denying their appeal with no actual thought behind it.

Ex. of an appeal denial which would be sent minutes later:
“We carefully reviewed your appeal for Duplicate Content and we still consider that your activity breaks the rules explained in our Community Standards We understand this decision can feel disappointing, and appreciate your time sending an appeal.”

The appeal process itself is flawed and justifies denying this creator because it simply was marked by their AI as stolen. There’s no reason that these violations should be this unappealable if staff not going to do the bare minimum research to read their message or check if these are original.

This feature is supposed to be protecting creators, not hurting the very foundation of what the marketplace is built upon. Make a better appeals process or scrap this feature, because this isn’t it. AI shouldn’t be using it’s own bias to consider what is stolen & ignorantly denying all claims otherwise :upside_down_face:

IMO, if this was properly implemented this wouldn’t be in Help & Safety, it’d be closer to claims where you had to refute what’s being labelled as stolen with proper documentation and such, but anything is better than what we have right now

I’m starting to believe that even when an appeals agent decides an appeal should be accepted, that decision is ultimately changed to a denial. The only other explanation I can think of is that agents are instructed not to approve duplicate content appeals.

I’ve submitted around 50 appeals with different explanations, evidence, and wording. Not a single one has been accepted.

If duplicate content appeals are effectively never going to be approved, why generate the appeal option in the first place? It just wastes developers’ time. If these decisions aren’t eligible for reconsideration, it would be far more transparent to simply state that and not present an appeal button for those assets.

I agree with what you’re saying, except I don’t think items flagged with ‘Duplicate Content’ should be put in the appeals category, rather moved into Claims where you’re able to refute it with the necessary information proving that you’ve created it yourself or own the rights to your creation.

Removing the process to appeal entirely will only lead to more bug reports like these where staff have to manually remove the flag, and it’s already affected more than 50 items in just the past 2 days:

Some of the items these users have listed haven’t even had their flags removed despite describing their issue in clear detail.
