Panels sometimes vanish; reopening them causes glitchy behaviour

Explanation

Recently I noticed that sometimes a panel closes automatically when doing something in particular. When you try to reopen it by right-clicking on the top toolbar and selecting the corresponding panel, it rapidly opens and closes right away. The only workaround is by going to the ‘View’ tab in the top toolbar and open it from there instead.

This bug report is not actionable. Please follow the steps to report a bug such as including a video / system specs, clarifying how often “sometimes” is (50% of the time? 90% of the time?), etc and create a new bug report with sufficient information.
