Hello, I as a parent my son has added some questionably named people on Roblox and obviously I can’t see who he adds or who adds him without being on his account. I would like a safety feature for parents to enable to directly have to approve any friend requests our child receives to add or deny the request on their behalf.
I check my sons account often and he recently had a user with the nickname baddiesonly. My son is under 9. Please add this feature I don’t want him exposed to bad people who try to get him to add them to get him to join them on other games or experiences.
but i already thought this is enabled (or the ability to friend),
You as a parent can talk to him about that because its never to late or early for him to discover what baddiesonly means… (or not im not a parent).
OR WHAT YOU CAN ALSO DO IS:
ok so baddiesonly account maybe plays Steal A Baddie (that could be mild) or something idk about that either, but i think you should degrade the ability of going to mild experiences.
I suggest you:
or disable the ability to friend
only letting him on minimal experiences
and blocking that person and report him for an innapropiate username (i think… PLEASE DONT FLAG ME IDK ABOUT THIS)
AND ROBLOX YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY ADD THIS FEATURE LIKE FR 100%
He was talked to about it but you also know a young kid isn’t gonna make the best decisions and add who they want, but we should be able to especially at very young ages like my sons case to have full control over their account without having to log into it ourselves to remove them or notice them. Also there is no setting to disable friend requests that does not exist, I would like to see that added though also as a feature in part with this.
I feel like features like this should already exist after all these years knowing the primary userbase of Roblox is children.
Changing experience level doesn’t matter, most bad experiences falsely label their games to get kids in them, all they gotta do is lie about it. I am well versed on Roblox lol I been playing since 2008 myself.
If you go in Settings > Privacy & content restrictions > Experience Chat over there you can allow either everyone or no one to 1. Chat in game or 2. Private chat you. I hope these settings help you. Also, I think a feature like ‘‘who can add you’’ which is in discord where either mutuals or everyone or no one can add you could be implemented in roblox too for younger users!
I am well aware of all the current Roblox settings, but I don’t want potential predators or deviants adding my kid on Roblox is the issue to where they could try to contact my son, obviously I want my son to be able to talk to his real life friends he plays with and some other friends I approve of, but kids are not the best at listening to everything their parent says. We definitely should have a setting to prevent friend requests as a whole even for normal users but for kids it should definitely be on their radar.
