I think this just started happening today, but I’m having really unusual issues with particle emissions being unloaded, displaced, or not rendering properly. It only happens ingame, not in studio, but particles (particularly those that are Emitted) just displace or disappear at random. It seems to particularly happen with particles emitted using ParticleEmitter:Emit().
My system information:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800 XT
Nvidia RTX 3060
48 GB RAM
Windows 11
This seems to happen in many games with particles, not just my own. Clips shown are from my own game Magic Mayhem, Grand Piece Online, my unlisted boat game, and I believe Gensokyo Arena
*Audio is disabled in these clips because it’s mostly me and friends screaming and yapping in a VC.
Edit: Converted to links. Roblox won’t render my catbox videos since they’re too large. Clip 1 Clip 2 Clip 3 Clip 4
It happens in other games, not just my own. For other people too. Regardless of player count, server age, etc.
I can confirm this is happening, and its actually so similar to a particle bug I helped to debug years ago that the repro file I used to replicate it still works.
I just took a freemodel gun and gave it particles on bullet hit. As you can see in the clip, the particles all cleared after a certain amount was spawned.
Other strange behavior i’ve noticed this time, however, is particles having too fast or too slow lifetimes.
Definitely an issue from the last 1-2 days. cloudy valley, rainy valley, and Multicrew Tank Combat are all on an older (server?) version (older than 2 days) which doesn’t have this issue.
I am experiencing a similar issue with particles mis-rendering. In this video, you can see rainfall and their splash particles being partially overwritten by other particle effects used in the experience. The rain splash particles are somehow being overwritten, despite no outside intervention in texture assigned to them. This started happening only recently.
Im having the exact same issue, my burned ground particle (parented to an attachment, set in pelocityperpendicular and emitted via a script using Emit()) are spawning in a random orientation, and despawning faster than the set lifetime Particle bug roblox
Same issue. Any VelocityPerpendicular particle that appears on the ground (For example, inside an attachment -3 studs downward parented to the HRP) will jitter alot (i.e. random rotations). I hope this gets patched.
