Parts always offset when animating

Hi, I’ve came back to animating after a couple months of rest, and when I decided to animate a rifle firing, it gave me this weird bug.

This is an image of the rifle going off.

And somehow in the process of moving to the other keyframe it looks like this.

I’ve tried many things such as replacing the Motor6D and the arm welds on the rig, but still no hope on fixing the animation.

How is your rifle attached to the player?

A Motor6D from the right arm onto the rifle’s handle.

Make sure that all parts of that rifle are welded onto that handle of yours instead of the player.

All of the rifle’s parts are actually already welded onto the handle,.

I see.

Could you possibly make a screenshot of your explorer with the players childs and the rifles childs?

Sorry for the late reply, but here it is anyway:

You can check the following steps to check if you did all of that correct:

  • One Motor6D constraint is used between the Handle (or main part of the rifle) and the rigs right arm.
  • All rifle parts are welded to your Handle (or main part of the rifle).
  • All parts of the rifle are Anchored = false.

I’ve did that all correctly, I think the problem was moving the right arm different from the rifle’s position.

Okay.
How are your Motor6D settings?

If your C0 is the Right Arm and C1 is your handle then the C0 property controls the position/orientation relative to the Right Arm and the C1 property adjusts the position relative to the rifle’s Handle.

If you want you can send me your place in dms so i can check it myself.

The C0 and C1 is all in the correct place and sure I could use some help.

So i solved your problem. What i saw was that you created 6 different Motor6Ds for each part of your rifle. So i deleted all Motor6Ds aswell as your Handle on your right arm. Then i moved the rifle a bit and made the handle visible to align it at the holding point of the gun.

Then i positioned the gun to the right arm so that it matches the holding point and welded all parts to the handle. I didnt see you weld things so that was a problem. (Ignore the positione of the rifle. Align the rifle BEFORE welding the parts or the welds get destroyed again):

Then i added one Motor6D again where the right arm and the handle of the gun gets connected. I used a very good plugIn for this: RigEdit Lite

After that it works fine!
