after a certain amount of time in my game the parts stop unloading. I have a high end system but people of lower end devices have told me memory related crashes are occurring ingame, I use the roblox default settings for streaming
Expected behavior
parts unload after exiting the normal render distance
Hi, could you please provide more details to help us narrow down what’s happening?
Provide a place file reproducing this behavior if possible - this is the best way to help us debug this.
List the streaming settings you’re using when you see this behavior - minimum radius, target radius, ModelStreamingMode, StreamOutBehavior, if SLIM is enabled, etc.
it seems to be this part of the map that is causing errors, I am not that well versed in forum posting so if you could add a private message I can reply to with the file that would be greatly appreciated
I’ve tried to reproduce this around 8 times so far but haven’t been able to in any part of the map.
You can try turning on the streaming debugger with shift + F3 then Shift + 1 four times. When this is on there are 3D bounding boxes drawn showing the minimum, target, and streamed in radius. With opportunistic stream out mode items further than 1.5x the target radius should be streamed out which matches what I saw while testing.
I don’t think there’s anything more I can do to help right now without a clear reproduction case.
ok, so I just tried 2 runs of route 18 and that seems to consistently trigger it, some yellow square borders appeared at the side along with some yellow center squares later on, if you want to test it yourself you will need an spawn an M003 at newham sidings on route 18, turn around, and drive the train, the yellow squares pop up at around halfway in the motorway section. this should replicate the issues I have been having
Thank you! I was able to reproduce easily with the new steps. This definitely looks like a streaming bug, the team will investigate and I’ll let you know what we find.
Hello @SpeedyHotdog4 I’m having a similar issue described on this post, but we had no issues earlier in February or before that. Atomic Models not Streaming Out - #4 by CorvusCoraxx
I wonder if it’s related to this issue, i tried shift +F3 then shitft +1 x4 and couldn’t get the debugger visible.
The fix for this is now deployed and this should be resolved, no need to restart clients or servers. Thank you for your report and bringing this issue to our attention! Please let us know if you are still having issues.
