Parts positioned at infinity or NaN break certain shadows in the map at specific angles

Issue Type: Display
Impact: Moderate
Frequency: Constantly
Date First Experienced:
Date Last Experienced:

Reproduction Steps:
shadows bug.rbxl (25.7 KB)

Open this place in Studio, then position your camera just like I did in the video until shadows start glitching out. This issue only seems to happen at specific camera angles, when the Lighting mode is set to ShadowMap/Future with GlobalShadows enabled.

Expected Behavior:
Parts positioned at infinity or NaN should not cause global shadows to start flickering.

Actual Behavior:
When a part’s position is set to infinity or NaN, certain shadows in the map will start flickering at specific angles.

Workaround:
The only workaround is avoiding such values.

Maybe don’t position parts at infinity or NAN?

Except there is an easy way to do this. Using the F3X Plugin and positioning it a certain way moves it to a HIGH number, or NaN. Since millions of players use F3X, this can become an extreme problem for builders.
