I wasn’t sure whether to make this post, but after more than a month of trying to resolve this privately through Roblox Support & Roblox internally, I feel like the only way to properly explain what happened is to put the full context in one place.
This is not meant to be another appeal pasted onto the DevForum. I have already been trying to deal with Roblox Support since July 24th. I am making this publicly because I do not believe the actual circumstances behind my termination have ever been meaningfully addressed, and because I need your support in this, this has deeply affected me the past weeks and I really would like this case to be resolved.
What happened in July
Throughout July, there were large moderation waves involving experiences connected to games such as “so crying rn” and “Dollhouse Roleplay”. A large number of developers were moderated or terminated because of experiences during that period, and many of those actions were later reversed after further review.
My own account, @g4uthee (UserId: 3388440829) was permanently terminated on July 23rd over a private experience called “so crying rn.”
However, my situation is more context-dependent than simply saying I was caught in one of those moderation waves. Before anyone sees the name of the experience and immediately assumes the worst about me, I think it is important to explain what I had actually been doing before the termination, because this is the part of the situation that Roblox Support does not seem to meaningfully address.
For a long time before my termination, I had been repeatedly reporting “so crying rn” games and reuploads to Roblox internally because I wanted them removed from the platform. I had serious concerns about the community surrounding those experiences and the behavior taking place in some of them. There were unsafe and inappropriate interactions, harassment, and people whose behavior I genuinely did not believe belonged around younger Roblox users.
That was one of the main reasons I wanted these games gone in the first place.
This was not something I did once and then forgot about. I kept finding new copies, documenting them, reporting them to Roblox internally, and trying to help get them taken down.
At one point, I explicitly told Roblox that I would continue looking into ways to help prevent further reuploads. I was not only reporting new copies when they appeared; I was actively trying to identify technical characteristics that Roblox could potentially use to detect these experiences more effectively.
That included things such as unique asset IDs, decals, meshes, calls, and other identifiers that could help distinguish these reuploads from unrelated experiences.
This is the part I want to emphasize the most, because it is central to why I believe the termination cannot fairly be looked at without context:
I was permanently terminated because of a private “so crying rn” experience while, before that termination, I had literally been giving Roblox information that could help them identify, detect, and prevent further “so crying rn” reuploads with THAT SAME game. For short, the game that got me terminated was quite literally a place that helped me find automated ways to detect reuploads of the same game.
I was trying to help Roblox patch the exact problem I was eventually punished for being associated with.
That is not a minor detail. It is the entire context behind why the private experience existed in the first place.
Why the private experience existed
The experience that ultimately resulted in my termination was private. It was never publicly available, it was not being advertised, it was not being operated for players, and it was not something I was trying to distribute.
Part of what I was doing was looking into the technical makeup of these experiences and trying to identify things that could potentially be reported, blacklisted, or otherwise used to help Roblox detect future reuploads. In other words, the experience existed in the same context as the reports and technical information I had already been sending Roblox.
I recognize that, looking back, I should have been more careful about what existed on my account. I am not claiming that every decision I made was perfect. But I do believe there is a major difference between someone deliberately operating or distributing harmful content and someone maintaining a private test experience while simultaneously reporting that same ecosystem to Roblox and giving Roblox ways to identify and patch against future copies.
That distinction is the main reason I am making this post.
No warning before permanent termination
I understand Roblox taking action against an experience if they believe that experience violates the Community Standards. I am not asking for the experience itself to be restored.
What I do not understand is why one private experience, which was never publicly available, immediately resulted in the permanent termination of my entire account without any warning or opportunity to correct the issue first.
There was no warning, no request to remove the experience, no opportunity to fix anything, and no temporary suspension. My account was simply permanently terminated.
If Roblox had warned me even once that the experience needed to be removed, I would have removed it immediately. There would have been no further issue.
That is why I find the severity of the account-level action so difficult to understand, especially given the context that I had already been reporting this same type of content and had literally been helping Roblox identify technical ways to prevent its reuploads.
I have been trying to deal with Support since July 24th
I started contacting Roblox Support almost immediately after the termination, beginning on July 24th. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to explain the full context behind what happened.
![]()
My appeals have not simply consisted of sending “please unban me” repeatedly. I have tried to explain that I had already been reporting “so crying rn” experiences and reuploads, that I wanted those experiences removed, that I had been trying to help Roblox identify new copies, that I had discussed ways of preventing further reuploads, that the experience on my account was private, and that I received no warning before permanent termination, and that THAT SAME experience was a test ground for me to report automated ways to detect those SAME reuploads.
Despite that, most of the responses I receive simply state that the violation was too severe, that the moderation action was already reviewed, or that I should not submit another appeal concerning the same action.
The problem is not simply that Support disagrees with me. The problem is that the responses do not seem to address the actual context I am raising.
They do not explain whether my reporting history was considered. They do not address the fact that I was trying to get these games taken down before my own termination. They do not address the fact that I had been giving Roblox technical information that could help identify and prevent future reuploads. They do not address why the experience was private, or why a warning or removal of the experience itself would not have been sufficient.
If someone actually reviewed all of that context and still disagreed with me, that would at least mean the substance of my case had been considered. At the moment, I do not feel that has happened.
The wider July moderation waves
The timing of my termination also matters.
My account was terminated on July 23rd, during the same period in which many developers were receiving experience-related moderation connected to “so crying rn,” Dollhouse Roleplay, and related games. A large number of people were affected by those waves, and many accounts were later restored after their cases were reconsidered.
I have also personally seen users with experience-related terminations get their accounts back after further review.
My point is not that every moderation action from July was automatically false. My point is that Roblox clearly did reconsider many of these experience-related terminations, and many people affected by those waves were ultimately restored.
That makes it even harder for me to understand why my own case, which has substantial additional context and documented reporting history behind it, appears unable to receive the same level of meaningful review.
My case is not simply “I had a prohibited experience and got caught in a ban wave.” The context is that I had been actively reporting those same games, helping Roblox identify their reuploads, and even giving Roblox technical ways they could potentially detect and patch against them.
Then I was permanently terminated over a private experience connected to that exact work.
That is why I believe this case deserves more scrutiny than a standard appeal response.
What I actually want people to understand
I am not asking anyone reading this to blindly defend me. I would rather people look at the evidence and decide for themselves.
Before my termination, I had been repeatedly reporting “so crying rn” reuploads, documenting new copies, trying to get those experiences removed, looking into technical identifiers that could help Roblox detect them, and explicitly telling Roblox that I would continue looking into ways to prevent further reuploads.
Then my entire account was permanently terminated because of one private “so crying rn” experience, without any prior warning or opportunity to remove it.
The contradiction is difficult to ignore.
I was trying to help Roblox remove these games and prevent further copies from appearing. I was literally giving Roblox ways to identify and patch against the same type of experience that later became the sole reason for my permanent termination.
I recognize that I should have been more careful about the private experience itself, but I do not believe the full circumstances support treating me as though I was deliberately trying to expose Roblox users to this content. My actions before the termination point in the opposite direction.
Why I am making this public
This account represented years of development, projects, communities, work, and memories for me. Losing it has had a significant personal impact, but what has made the situation especially difficult is spending more than a month trying to explain the same context through the proper channels without feeling that it has ever actually been addressed.
I was trying to get this content removed from Roblox. I was reporting its reuploads. I was trying to identify ways of detecting those reuploads. I was giving Roblox information that could potentially help them patch against future copies.
And I ultimately lost my entire account over a private experience connected to that exact situation.
I am not asking for the experience to be restored, and I am not asking Roblox to pretend that no moderation was warranted. I am asking for the account-level termination to be considered together with the actual circumstances surrounding it.
From my perspective, the sequence of events was effectively:
reporting these games → helping Roblox identify and patch against their reuploads → maintaining one private test experience → receiving no warning → permanent account termination
After trying to resolve this privately since July 24th, I believe that sequence deserves a proper contextual review, and at the very least, I believe the full story deserves to be seen.
If there’s interest, I can also share the full list of 400+ experiences that were moderated following reports I submitted, to give a better sense of how extensive my efforts to get these games removed actually were.
I have also intentionally kept the identity of the Roblox employee I was reporting these experiences to private. My goal here is not to expose or target someone who initially helped me but ultimately left me without further support, nor to give people a name they could use to harass, pressure, or exploit them. I want the focus to stay on the moderation process and the context of my case, not on any individual employee.
I put so much time and effort into helping Roblox keep its platform safe, only to end up being treated like this in return.
A Private Message has been sent alongside this post as well!
Thank you so so much for reading!
