Back at it again with another fantastic update. This is probably one of my biggest releases yet! I’ve been working on this for quite some time now, but I never brought it to light until now. But before I tell you what it is, I need to get this out of the way first.
THIS IS ALPHA SOFTWARE.
The classic statement that will probably get ignored that shouldn’t be ignored. It’s highly recommended that you don’t really use this outside of any sandbox games, or just keep the use of it strictly on the command bar. I’m saying that because the most basic features like window dragging isn’t even implemented. You can’t even click the close button to close the window yet. Those features should be rolled out pretty quickly though. Now with that out of the way, lets see what this thing really is.
Presenting: Pixel Administration
Pixel Administration’s an advanced admin panel and command bar system featuring things that I personally have never seen before in an admin script such as Adonis. For instance, it features custom commands (I know that already exists but bear with me here). But here’s the twist. It has custom suggestions. You can already see that in the screenshot below. MeltReactor’s one of my events that was inserted into the custom suggestions. You can learn more about that in the docs.
Also, this is one of those admin panels that uses a system where it grabs a module script that powers the whole thing from the latest version. So every time a server starts up, this admin panel will always be up to date.
If you’re willing to learn more, please head over to the documentation which can be found here. It’ll teach you how to install, create custom commands, assign and make ranks, and much more.
Feedback Appreciated
We’re always looking out for feedback, and I’d love to hear what you guys have to say whether it’s a bug, suggestion, and so on. Thank you for choosing Pixel!
Status/TODO:
The studio logs (who playtested the game last, and other stats).
More settings.
Add :control command.
Update: We Hear You!
We’re working on a brand new interface for Pixel Administration so it actually stands out rather than mimicking what already exists on the market. Here’s a sneak peak at some of those new UIs! Stay tuned.
Alright so I don’t have a version number just yet, but all I can do is still post new updates without the version. Anyways onto the fixes! You can now drag the panel anywhere you want (no resizing yet sadly), you can close it with the close button, and I fixed a bug related to chatting. If you pressed a keybind assigned to the panel while typing in a textbox such as chat, it would trigger it anyway. It’s been really annoying for me (and probably whoever likes grammar) and has been fixed.
What’s Next?
More built in commands obviously! R6, R15 are planned commands, as well as fly/unfly (the harder end of things, but I’ll get something going), and more. Oh yeah and maybe I’ll get the plugin version working soon! That way for the people who can’t script out there can adjust the ranks easily. Also I apologize for constantly updating via the Pixel Administration - Loader asset causing everyone’s Pixel Administration panels to update and cause bugs live during testing. All development and testing will now be local on my testing place and shouldn’t cause issues any more. Sorry about that! And as always, if you have any commands to suggest, you can always post some here in the DevForum!
EDIT: I just realized that my system audio was playing in the background of that demonstration video so you could hear my Spotify in the background lol. I updated the recording to mute that.
That’s right! You can now blacklist/whitelist, or even allow all commands in the built in commands, and even custom commands as of right now. Learn more at the docs.
It has some inspiration from it! I thought I’d make my own because I thought Nexus Dynamics was a little lacking especially in their latest updates where they removed a ton of features in favor of the improved performance update. I might do a revamp on those styles so it doesn’t look like I’m blatantly copying them (because the UI is heavily similar), but who knows. I’ll let you guys decide!
Should I revamp Pixel Administration?
Yes.
No, it’s fine the way it is.

Update: We Hear You!
We’re working on a brand new interface for Pixel Administration so it actually stands out rather than mimicking what already exists on the market. Here’s a sneak peak at some of those new UIs! Stay tuned.
What’s new? Well we’ve redesigned the Command bar’s UI and the notification UI! But that’s not all. I’ll tell you the full changes below with this new version.
Command Bar Changes
The command bar now wraps the text for the textbox so you can see long commands with long arguments. It also tells you if no commands were found when searching for a command, and also tells you to search for something if the textbox is blank.
The notification is now simplified and modernized as well! Instead of a duration counter, it’s a progress bar. And instead of a dismiss button, it’s a smaller close button!
no im making a joke on how barebones admin panels that have gone through 20 styling machines are so expensive but offer things that hd admin and adonis have done better, im defo using this
dw, even if i cant get through the setting up of ranks even though i’ve done everything in the tutorial, i will still have it linger in my serverscriptservice (please what does commandaccess mean im frying)
ohh so basically if it says None then they cant use commands?? or they CAN use commands and they’re unrestricted, im VERY stupid and i get stumped easily, i’ve followed everything but the panel doesnt show up
yeah its just not working, i’ve set up permissions and ranks and allat but each time i join the game it doesnt give me the popup (yes i’ve set my username correctly) are there any pre-made commands? is the reason why it’s not working because of no commands?
Thanks for the suggestions. I do think there’s room for user preference here. Maybe once I get onto the settings page, I’ll add some customization to these elements (closing command bar when focus lost, or some other settings)! Also the autocomplete works when the TextBox is focused (enter/tab). If it worked when it wasn’t focused, it may or may not intrude with the user’s gameplay. I do also think that suggestions should be clickable as well, I do agree with that suggestion you made as well. Also one thing that has been on my mind is a list of commands. I’ve been thinking about a page for commands in the panel itself, as well as the command bar. Also I think the fuzzy searching suggestion is pretty genius myself. I’ll definitely be adding that. And the autofill preview definitely still needs some work on it done. Sometimes it’ll ignore the TextBox, and sometimes it wont. Also closing the command when it’s ran also seems like a good idea because in my Team Chat: Revived plugin, when sending a message and pressing enter, it never loses focus on the TextBox until you click off of it in case someone wanted to send multiple messages quickly. Sending multiple commands quickly is a good idea. Changing the popup location for the command bar is also a neat idea as well. I will be adding that too! Also I do agree that I should probably adjust the Permissions/Settings files to make it more user friendly instead of just relying on the user. Not everyone’s a scripter, so I can see why people might make mistakes since coding can be so sensitive.
Overall I think your suggestions are really good! Thank you so much for all of this feedback!
I just realized I had made an error in the documentation regarding the Permissions file where if you would copy the code over from one of the examples, it would just result in a syntax error due to a missing comma. That is now fixed!
Model Quality of Life Improvements
To minimize beginner mistakes, some presets have been added to both the Settings and Permissions file! Thanks to @Spa_rkk for this suggestion.
Unfortunately I can’t really do this because that’d take up more space, and due to how ScrollingFrames and applying an AutomaticSize to them to make it take less space, it just ends up bugging out for some reason. So for user experience, I’d rather update this message. The next update will have the commands tab though! But I was able to add fuzzy searching, I fixed casing with all suggestions, it clears the command bar when a command is ran, suggestions can be clicked, and it wont close until they click the close button on the top right. All that’s left is that commands page and the location setting!
Take a look at the brand new Commands page! Right now it’s fully working with categories and everything, but I’m going to be saving this update for a later date just so we can get the Settings page going, and just because I still see some console errors that might be worth looking in to. Stay tuned.
