PixelForge 2.2.0 - 3D Icon Studio

Can you make a free version with less options like pixelforge lite for example?

v1.8.0 is out — what you see is now exactly what you capture:

  • Your framing is never thrown away anymore. Selecting a model that’s already on screen keeps your exact camera setup — PixelForge adopts it instead of re-fitting. It only auto-frames when the selection is off screen, and reopening the plugin resumes right where you left off.

  • True WYSIWYG capture. Move the camera with Studio’s own controls (scroll, right-drag) and the framing sliders follow live, so the capture always matches the crop box in your viewport.

  • Faster first icon. The Frame tab shows when your selection is ready and has a one-click Capture button. New Front / 3-4 / Top / Tilt camera recipes cover the common angles, with a Roll control for tilted frames.

  • Closing the plugin no longer loses your work. Reopen to resume the same capture, adjustments, and framing — Start over is now an explicit button.

  • Uploader status at a glance. Ready / Save-only / Offline is visible before you click, Save PNG and Upload enable independently, and the buttons respond instantly (no more frozen-looking click when the Uploader is off).

  • Preview with confidence: check transparent edges against checker/dark/light and at 128 px / 64 px before exporting.

  • Library search finds icons, folders, and asset IDs (now smooth while typing), and there are bindable Studio shortcuts for Capture, Frame selection, and Save last PNG.

Update: re-download, drop it in your plugins folder over the old file, restart Studio. Presets and library carry over.

PixelForge 2.1.0 is out now!

This update adds true-resolution HD and 4K capture (up to 4096 px), a more responsive viewport action bar, and cleaner transparent edges that retain the lighting and effects you see in Studio.

The first post has the full update notes. I’d love to see what you build with it — feedback and bug reports are always welcome!

Just purchased the plugin and I’m beyond pleased with its capabilities, specifically with how much time it saves me.

Some suggestions and ideas:

  • Option to increase the plugin’s UI size. Text is insanely small and especially the UI buttons from Capture. I misclick onto my Workspace often
  • Presets are a god-send, but wish that Fit-to-Frame also carried over correctly. I’m required to zoom out and re-adjust since my models are varying sizes (this is thankfully quick to do because batch export is so well designed)
  • I wish there was a setting to disable particle emitters from showing AND a setting for the particle emitters to dynamically rotate so (for example) fire is always going upwards no matter the rotation (probably out of scope but… worth a shot)
  • A setting for lighting so that you can be more in control of shadows and light shining (yes, I can set brightness to be higher but parts will still be darker/lighter) or… an option to lock the frame so that no matter how you rotate or move the model, the frame stays in the same position (would allow me to choose a lighting angle that works best without having to start over again with positioning)

Only bug I’ve found is Humanoid name tags from other models showing in my icons. Hope this is fixed

Honestly, very good job with this plugin

Hello! Very pleased to hear you’re enjoying PixelForge and also grateful for the feedback! I will do my best to fit your needs in the next update!

If possible, would also be thankful if you were able to leave a review on the Roblox Creator Hub.

PixelForge 2.2.0 is now available.

This release is mainly about making consistent icon sets faster:

  • Exact Auto Fit adapts the same preset independently to differently sized models in Capture, Batch Export, and Capture Workflows.
  • Interface scaling now supports 100%, 125%, and 150%, with larger capture-handle hit targets.
  • Particle behavior and an optional key/fill light can be saved per preset without rewriting the source model or authored Lighting.
  • Capture isolation is cleaner, and Batch Review now keeps your scroll position while you preview, reframe, or recapture.

The part I am most interested in testing in real projects is portable Auto Fit. It now fits the complete subject against the actual capture rectangle instead of replaying one camera distance across every model.

If you produce pet, weapon, vehicle, or inventory catalogs, where does consistency still break down for you: framing, particles/VFX, naming, or review? Difficult models and unusual edge cases are especially welcome—they have been the most useful feedback so far.

Special thanks to MrSmartyPants for the feedback that made this update possible!

I am so thankful for this plugin, but recently after the 2.2 update, I haven’t been able to Save as a PNG nor Upload to Roblox. Do you know what this error may mean? I have it connected and it won’t get the connection even if the terminal is open.

Oh well, that is such a weird plugin, and I will have to take a look! Sorry to hear this. Would you mind joining my Discord server or adding me (@juztripper) for quicker assistance?
