Player built content on Private Servers, I know there are several topics about player built content, but what about content on a private server? Example:
My game lets the player chose who can and who can’t join their server.
Will I be held responsible if the player makes inappropriate content on the private server, will I be responsible for any inappropriate content that the player has created? Why do ppl like this exist anyways
You should add some way to report people for their content so that you could argue it’s not your fault. I’m not sure there’s an ideal solution to people being inappropriate with UGC, though, it’s kind of a given.
I’ve always wondered if text filtering still applies in custom lobbies, where only friends are allowed in the server.
Will I be held accountable for inappropriate text in a exclusive server where the people who report it are responsible for making it in the first place?
Filter all chat and text, Developers must pass all chat and/or game text through Roblox’s filtering system
Just because people are friends doesn’t mean the rules don’t apply. If they’re virtual friends, you could be in the scenario where one is breaking the ToS.
In relation to the OP,
There is currently no requirement for filtering of other user inputted content.
The case has been around for along time, with “guess the drawing” type games. There is no precedence (as far as I’m aware) for content being taken down due to users abusing other input methods.
Thanks for replying! So I’m planning on making a sandbox survival game where players can build in a vast amount of land, so this’ll be a problem. Any help on how to counter this would be appreciated!
I think @posatta has already covered the best-way to counter for rule breakers.
Whatever counter measures you try and put in, people will always try and break them. If you are searching for an 100% solution, it probably doesn’t exist
