Player has managed to claim ownership of a group I gave to my alt

I encountered a serious issue with Roblox group ownership transfers. I originally transferred ownership of my group (66!, 66! - Roblox ) to my alternate account (luvvEriine) with my full authorization. After that, the group ownership somehow transferred again to another user (alexluci) without my permission or involvement.

Key details:
I only authorized ownership transfer to luvvEriine.
Neither my account (66wraith) nor luvvEriine’s account shows signs of compromise (no unauthorized logins or suspicious activity).
The new owner (alexluci) was never authorized by me or my cousin and did not receive ownership legitimately.
This suggests the transfer occurred through an exploit or an error within Roblox’s systems, not through normal user actions.

Impact:
My group ownership was taken without consent, bypassing intended permissions.
This undermines group security and could affect other group owners if left unaddressed.

Steps to reproduce (as far as I can confirm):
Transfer a group legitimately to an alternate or trusted account.
At some point later, ownership changes again to an unauthorized user without either owner granting permission.
This appears to be a group ownership transfer exploit that needs urgent investigation.

This guy have been trying to get me banned for months, for something I have never done and would never do.

I experienced the same issue last week. I had transferred ownership to my alternate account. Afterwards, when my previous owner account tried to leave the group, a warning popped up saying I would lose ownership if I left the group. But I had already transferred the group to my alternate account, so leaving with my previous owner account shouldn’t have been a problem. When I ignored the warning and left, somehow, a bot-like account magically claimed the group within seconds, and the alternate account I had transferred ownership to lost its owner status.

I have no idea how this even happened, it’s ridiculous. I lost the group in seconds due to what seems like a serious security vulnerability. If a staff member wants to investigate, I can provide the details.

Sorry for what happened to your group. It almost sounds identical to what happened to my group. In my case, I also transferred ownership to an alternate account and it been on that account for months and somehow the ownership got shifted to an unauthorised account without either one of us granting permission.

Hopefully, a Roblox Staff take a closer look at this, as it appears to affect multiple people.

Thank you for the feedback, our team is investigating and will get back to you.

@anon75603056 do you have a ticket with your situation? If so can you share the link?

If by ticket you mean a different bug report, then no :wilted_flower::sob::victory_hand:t2:

Thank you for the update. I hope the information I have provided is enough to get my group back as, I originally created it back in 2023 and this group has all my work.

Here is is the link to my community. 66! - Roblox

This is because when the owner of a group leaves, it becomes ‘unclaimed’ and free to anyone to take for a short amount of time. Many people take advantage of this by setting up bots to auto claim and sell them on their games ( I can’t find the game atm because it may have been deleted [they were also selling bot followers and group members ] )
Anyways, I don’t really know how this happened when you were directly moving ownership. Roblox should probably limit the amount of times you can ‘steal’ vacant groups

Yes but in the screenshot i sent Roblox themselves changed the ownership for some apparent reason. I am the original owner and creator of the group. This needs to be investigated ASAP.

Are you sure you have no affiliation with this account? Their description mentions your username, and it also appears to break TOS (selling accounts)

I want to clarify I did not buy the account at all, a friend gave me this account back as he was quitting Roblox and turns out he most definitely stole the account. In which, I gotten caught in the crossfire and gotten a 3 day suspension. But, the important point is my group ownership was still transferred away without my authorisation, despite me legally owning the group. The exploit allowed unauthorised group ownership transfer which should not be possible under any circumstances, and Roblox should look into the group more thoroughly to before making changes which can affect someone’s ownership rights.

Hello, Gameon I wanted to provide more information about this issue. The situation has gotten worse the unauthorized user (alexluci), who managed to gain ownership of my group without my consent, is now actively abusing their position. Specifically, they keep kicking out my cousin (luvvEriine), who was the last legitimate and authorized group holder. Neither I nor my cousin authorized this transfer, and our accounts show no signs of compromise.

This makes it clear that the problem is not just a one-time error, but an ongoing exploit that allows someone who should not be an owner to control and manage the group. This is causing real harm to us as the rightful creators and owners. I strongly urge the engineering team to investigate this exploit, as it poses a risk to any group on Roblox if ownership can be taken and abused in this way.
