Honestly I think if animations are smoother it would look better. Cause rn it just looks like he stops and does another animation. I think there might be a way to tween an animation but am not sure
Thank you so much for responding with feedback!!
I want to work on the animations soon, but they are more of placeholders until the physics and movement work well. Until then, do you have any suggestions on what I can add, improve, or just rework??
Thank you!
Probably try add particles. But maybe make backflips and ground pounds more smooth
Very cool and dynamic movement system. What will the progression be like? I think it would be cool to add a separate mode where users can build their own levels and play other users’ creations. This would also be good for retaining users if you want to add a story mode.
This 3D platformer looks awesome! You should make the music a bit quieter, or allow people to mute it with a button. Otherwise, this is cool! How long did it take to make so far? When do you think it will be fully finished?
There’s a good amount of movement mechanics, love to see it!
I think the rolling animation looks off, like the legs were spazzing out. There’s not a lot to give feedback on past animation, as there’s no in-world mechanics or environment. I’m personally lacking in the animation side of things to effectively critique, and I lack context to critique the movement.
That said, it’s good to focus on bettering movement first because “level design brings context to the movement”:
If you’re looking for inspiration or how to get different aspects of a 3D Platformer done right, like the camera, I have a whole playlist of YouTube videos on the genre: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnd33tzRlu1GjVY5No6DRA2hQogItTYVy
I’ve also written a research paper (largely sythesis) on what makes good level design for the collect-a-thon sub-genre specifically:

If you’re looking to monetize, you might want to try Paid Access in robux with a short fee, or $9.99 local currency fee, or free with paid DLC and accessories or other content.
Best of luck on your project!
Looks pretty cool! The only concern I have about it is the animations which aren’t bad but I think making them smoother would make it look nicer. Other than that you have a pretty cool platformer dude :]
