I recently published my first game Scrollblock Brawl and it didnt do very well. I did only run ads for a few days but the rating just got worse and none of the people who disliked the game gave any feedback. Im posting it here because Im hoping to get some advice from people that have experience with getting a roblox game started for the first time. I especially want to know if the game is even worth developing and if it can make a comeback from its bad rating or if I should re-publish it after making changes. Any suggestions on how to make the game more understandable and engaging would be helpful.
I just tried it out and I really love the concept! I think the idea of chaining your own moves into a combo is super neat! However, this game seems to NEED other people to function.
You can’t get kills or coins without other people in the server. I would suggest adding some sort of bot enemies the player could fight so they have something to do in an empty server.
I also felt like the map was kind of empty. Maybe the map is too flat with little to explore. Try experimenting with adding some things the player could climb up on.
The tutorial did a great job in guiding me on how to play the game. Great work there! I really liked how the spawn area circle looked and the animation for the scroll guy. The clone didn’t seem to do anything but I’m assuming, with other players, it would seek out someone to fight and perform my combo on them. If that is the case, that is really cool!
Again, I really love the concept of the game. I feel this game could go a long way if you added a way for a player to have things to do without other users in the server. Some places to explore and some bots to fight would help a ton. Great work and thanks for sharing!
Thank you for taking the time to play my game and give me feedback I really appreciate it. I didnt want to include any information on how to play the game in my post because I wanted all the information you received to be from the game itself. You’re actually able to fight the purple guys instead of cloning them if you choose, so I’ll add something to let new players know about that or maybe make some of them aggressive. I was thinking the same thing about the map except I kept it pretty flat because I thought it would be difficult to fight otherwise. Map building is the part I was dreading when making the game, I’ll definitely try to improve it.
I had tried to fight one of the purple guys without cloning but didn’t seem to do any damage so I wrote that idea off. I guess I wasn’t close enough lol! I wish you luck on future development!
