[Plugin] Biome Terrain Generator — TerrainSuite (Free, Map-Style Regions)

Hi all,

We recently released TerrainSuite, a free Studio plugin for generating biome terrain — realistic or blocky — right in the editor.

Get it: https://create.roblox.com/store/asset/117295054452350/Biome-Terrain-Generator-TerrainSuite

What it does

  • Fresh Generate — pick a biome preset (Alpine Valley, Moon Craterfield, Lava Fields), set terrain scale and water level, and generate in seconds.

  • Map-style regions — lay biomes out on a top-down realm grid. Generate a cell next to an existing one and the borders blend into a continuous world, instead of a single flat noise blob.

  • Realistic or blocky — the same presets can produce smooth realistic terrain or a clean blocky style.

  • Built-in quality report — a readable score with smoothness, seam, material, and fill diagnostics, so you can check the output instead of eyeballing it.

  • 100% local & offline — no cloud, no API keys, no external calls.

  • Clear + Undo for fast iteration.

Why team built it

We’re building a series of games set in procedurally generated biome worlds, and I
kept wanting to lay biomes out like a map and have their borders blend automatically instead of fighting one big noise blob — then get an objective read on whether the result is actually clean. TerrainSuite is that workflow.
The timing feels right, too: Roblox’s Terrain Early Access Program is expanding terrain from 23 to 64 custom materials and cutting client memory 40–60% with ~2x faster loading, so much larger, richer terrain worlds are becoming practical. A region/border workflow like this is built for exactly that kind of large, multi-biome map. TerrainSuite doesn’t require the Early Access Program, though — it runs entirely on standard Studio terrain APIs today, and we plan to grow the presets and materials alongside those engine improvements as they roll out.

What I’m looking for — feedback on the workflow

This is an early free release. The main thing I want feedback on is the region + border-blending workflow itself:

  • Does laying biomes out on a map grid match how you’d plan a world?

  • Which biome presets would you want next?

  • Would you reach for this over hand-sculpting terrain — and if not, what’s missing?

  • How useful automatic scattering (trees, rocks, props) and path/river/cave carving would be on top of a generated region.

  • Whether you’d want custom biome presets defined in code for runtime generation, or if edit‑time generation in Studio is enough for your use case.

More biome presets, automatic scattering, canyons, rivers, roads, lava channels, and custom biome/carving configs (stored in ServerStorage ) are already in progress and planned for the next version.

Any feedback is appreciated — thanks for taking a look!
