Let me know if this is a bad category for such a topic.
So I’ve been doing commissions for a little bit now, and I’ve been wondering if the prices I’ve been settling for were actually good or not. I came here to ask you all how you decide on the pricing for your work. That’s about it.
Example for how I would price things normally
I did a commission where I coded a couple of things for a supermarket simulator clone. Those things were:
- A stocking system
- A pricing system (to set the price of all the items)
- The UI for the pricing system
- An Ordering system (not the UI, just the logistics)
- A system to pick up and put down boxes of stuff
- The view model for the boxes
Here is a link to the video my client gave me for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nrqHP8cdrQ
The commission took me about 2 weeks to finish (don’t know if that is a long time for the amount of work or not), and I ended up getting paid 70$ for it. Honestly, I didn’t even expect to be doing that much, cause the client wasn’t clear about how he wanted me to make everything that was in the video (I thought I was only making the stocking system lol).
