Thanks for forcing the inferior new studio layout. I really liked when everything used to work.
local a = Instance.new('Part') a.Name = "Hello!" print(a) a.Name = ":)" -- :)
Expected behavior
The print should output “Hello!” and not “:)”

It’s still an optional Beta Feature as far as I can tell
If you encounter any bugs, make sure to report them as well. Additionally, if you don’t like the default layout, you can try installing a custom layout which attempts to mimic the old one such as:
This is standard behaviour with how outputting works and has nothing to do with the new layout. Add a task.wait() after the print statement and it will work as you expect.
Or simply print(tostring(Instance))
“print” and all other functions that create a message in the output are scheduled and delayed until the next frame, this also happens to delay the internal tostring call on the instance.
Surprisingly I can replicate this.
That exact example string prints :) in console, scriptrunner, and through regular test gameplay.
Rewriting the script for multiple lines still works too.
I did however notice that if I put breakpoints in the script and run it line by line, it works as you’d expect it to (printing the name before the print, instead of after)
Hey all, this should be resolved. Sorry for the delay and thanks again for pointing this out.
