Problems with Home Impressions for new game

Hi everyone — looking for insight on how Home impressions are determined and what we might be doing wrong.

Game [NEW] Untitled Wallhop Obby - Roblox
Released: Oct 17
Promotion: Sponsored for ~1 week ($100 total), paused ~5 days, resumed sponsorship 2 days ago.

What we’re seeing:

During the first sponsorship week we got 1,000+ impressions.

Two days after stopping sponsorship, Home impressions fell below 100 total and stayed very low (about 5–6 recommendations/hour).

Concurrency dropped to ~1–4 CCU at that time.

We restarted sponsorship 2 days ago and the game is now averaging 50–100 CCU.

Despite the higher CCU, Home impressions are still under 100 (essentially flat).

Why I’m confused

I assumed higher live players + renewed sponsorship would help the algorithm recommend us on Home again. Instead, impressions remain extremely low, while I see similar/less-polished obbies in Home with far higher impressions.

What I’d love help understanding

Which signals most strongly drive Home distribution for new experiences? (e.g., D1 retention, session length, likes/FPS, completion funnel, favorites, return rate, reports)

Does Sponsorship directly/indirectly affect Home or only Ads/Discovery surfaces? Could pausing sponsorship “reset” momentum?

Are there hidden thresholds or caps (e.g., minimum retention or engagement) below which Home exposure is suppressed regardless of CCU?

Quality bars: Could a low first-session success rate in an obby (early difficulty spike) be penalizing Home impressions even if CCU rises via sponsorship?

Goal

We want to understand why Home impressions <100 even while CCU = 50–100, and what specific changes (design, difficulty curve, on boarding, thumbnails, keywords, etc.) would most likely improve our Home distribution.

Thanks in advance for any pointers or docs that explain how to recover Home visibility on a new title!
