Progress lost after internet disconnect despite autosave messages in Studio

Hello,

Yesterday, just as I was finishing the day’s work in Roblox Studio, I lost my internet connection. Shortly after that, I closed Studio and went to sleep. At the time, Studio did not display any warning indicating that progress might be lost, so I assumed everything was safe, especially since I had seen autosave messages appear during the session.

However, when I reopened Studio the next day, all progress from that entire day was gone.

I then attempted to recover the work by checking:
C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Roblox\RobloxStudio\AutoSaves
Unfortunately, the folder was empty

What’s confusing is that autosave notifications were clearly shown while I was working, yet no autosave files seem to exist afterward.

Is this the location that Studio is set to put your AutoSaves?
I know I was looking in that folder years ago, but the files were auto saved to a different folder that had all of my previous saves in it.
The fact that the folder is empty made me think this is what’s going on with your computer.

Go into your Studio settings to see where the files are getting saved to.
Maybe ‘Open Auto Saves’ is just going to where Studio’s default location is.

You should have copies of every place you’ve every had in Studio that you’ve worked on and had been autosaved. The folder shouldn’t be empty.

I have looked through studio settings, there doesnt seem to be an option to change where the autosaves are saved to

i did some more experimenting and autosaves seem to be getting deleted when closing studio, no matter if it had been saved to roblox properly or not

When you click File > Save As where is the location it gets saved to on your computer?
